This post is some suggestions I have for improving the new interface showcased in the recent dev diary.
Design Philosophy:
- Reorganize so important events and battlepass challenges are close together.
- Make the faction selection button larger and more centrally located on the screen.
- Reduce the static lifelessness of the soldiers.
This design was inspired by and closely follows the suggestion posted by @sfh0525
Moving the soldiers to the left and event/battlepass information to the right keeps important information compactly stored on the rightside of the screen. This opens up the left side of the screen for the soldiers. At the moment, soldiers stare blankly forward and seem no more alive than mannequins.
The introduction of hangars has allowed the placement of soldiers in a much more natural and dynamic way. The new interface should capitalize on this by allowing different factions and squad types to have different hangars. For example Paratrooper squads could have different hangars than regular infantry squads, with the hangar switching when a different squad is selected.

Below image is my hasty attempt to create an example of what a hangar for infantry could look like. Please forgive my lack of experience with the editor.
While the use of hangars is possible at the moment on PC, hangars are universal and specific factions all utilize the same hangar. Console players are unable to download or use custom hangars. I think the official implementation of some hangar options for all players would be a nice change and would make the interface a lot better.
