Infantry Utopia. (a very ambitious topic)

No matter how crazy it sounds this topic, not matter how hardcoded, we talking a shiet that,s is utopia, at least for now. i gonna say what i think is the best possible squad order arsenal we ever dream of.

Why? because this may save time from the DEV.s, how? because if they know the best way possible it can get it will save time from making a system then destroying it, to build another. whith is fucking pain in the ass.

So here we go. hope you guys love it. because i spend some time on it.

the orders will be stances (whit change the passive behavior of you bots mates) and activy ones, that make quick but intereting things that change the field of battle. and the structure ones that will do a bit of both so lets check out.

Move stance, the move stance is where you say how much faster or carefull you squad should be. the more you move in hot zone, the more like to be carefull you soldiers must be, it will be 3 possible stances,

the defessive one (cover from cover) that is very very slow, but very very defensive also in this stance soldiers will use medkits more often.

the dinamic stance, whith will make soldiers run and get close. ideal for assautling manuever. they will favor shoot at moving and even melle atacks, so run and get they in close quarters. that helpfull when you are in a house or something close.

and the stadard stance. whit do want soldiers do now, move and return fire, looking and moving at the same importance.

the engage stance will be 3 things also. has it will do the job o stealth, very important two.

fire at will, Has they do now. fire at will be default. shoot friest ask later.

Return fire, has say return fire. whit is sneaking, but not that all. has it is utopia the will favor spoting enemys, remenber it is the best possible thing, return fire means that they will spot friest shoot later,

and cease fire, ideal for sneaking and sniping. they will not shoot, unless it is close quarters.

the spacing order, that alerdy exist, but is also important,

wide, close and stadard, whit we will discus later in the combination of the passive stances.

Active orders.

Sprint order. Press X two times in a short o period and the soldier will sprint, if K pressed only one go, either all squad go. will helpfull in alot things.

Move to the cover order. If you aim in a sandbag, window or something that provide good gover, instead of the ground have the move order, it will be the window that got green, making it stay in this cover and use it the best it can. if you press a second time it will climp it. the order will be yellow. and the soldie will climp up.

Trow Granade order. pre K, select the soldier, then press G. he will trow the granade, if placed in ground in the ground, if placed in window he will trow in the window, the window will be red, the same can be donne in doors, and even tanks.

Supresion fire and mark fire order, Supresion targuet makes a circle area like the artilhary area where you bots shoot all you got at the position, to press the supresion order Press V for a time while selecting you squad, while presing K hoever press V in a individual targuet and the soldier will shoot it, remenber if you use X and V you can give a move order and a atack order.

Structure Orders, are important two, they will be donne default in the game hub, but can be changed in a menu similar to control configuration, it will determine how you squad will be commanded and can be quite usefull,

How fire Teams work, you got groups of soldiers that are configureted in a menu like a control menu inside the game, also you got the menu hub to make you default group structure off the game, when you press K the friest time you select individual soldiers, pressing K again you select groups. very interesting and time saving shiet.

In structure, you can also assing the troops, to rear. right flank, left flank, center all in the structure menu that works like the control configuration one in the game and game hub. making you formation best flexible possible. they will also do it in the groups they are, so you have the full group, and 2 or 3 fire teams, you can make the full group in one formation, and the others groups when actived in other formations, keep in mind it.

Now we go the cobination of orders.

The most classic movement of all times, supress, sprit and trow a grande, using the comands will be possible do so. Press V to supress, K and G to send the soldier to trow it. a blow it.

Trow granades trough window presing K and G aiming to a window, then go dinamic stance, and press again K and X double time to send soldiers to diferent window to climp it.

Use Cease fire, Close formation, and go prone, for a sneaky move. if get enough close thow the granades using K and G.

Use Sprint and suprresion fire, trow smoke granade in the middle of the road, and cross a area covered by a tank or anything that fire alot of bullets. from one house to another.

Use K and X douple time to make all you soldiers clilpm a wall, or enter a house by one only window.

Use defensive mode in movement stance, structure mode to send your troopers in a group all in the the center, then use you second fire team whit the gunner, take control of the gunner and have fun kiling the most units you can.

Presing K to position snipers, cease fire stance, and V to mark enemy so the snipers shoot then for far. quite deadly

the combination of orders will implement tactics, making a flexible, simple and quick system will allow us to futher improve this amazing and HEAVY POTETIAL game, this is the friest game in this type, of soldiers being BOT,s in your squad. so it,s a new genere in my opnion

Few free to write you own Tactical Utopia. no matter how crazzy, hardcoded it is. because i guess if DEV,s think big, this game will BE FUCKING AMAZING,

my father use to say, dream whith a ferrari, and maybe you get a great car.

To be honest, a long time ago i played those simulators, and i like Enlisted because there is no microfone,
and you soldiers are bots, in those types of simulator you learn alot but you get to much anoying from the rivalitys and so on.

which can be summed up by their initial intention that never have becomed reality:

they exist, but not really.

i don’t know what happened, but the space does not work like it used to.

the large spacemenet used to spray the units alot so that 1 grenade could only kill 1 or 2 elements. now, is not the case anymore. it’s just like a standard formation 2.0.

which it’s weird.
and now, AI does not even follow your orders properly when using formation.

this… is too much work.

you can already use personal orders for that. which even worse, interefere with the dismantle order.
( so your ai will walk to the other side of the map for no reason what so ever ).

i guess this new order could be usefull, but i can already think of markers being a nightmare because sometimes they detect something in the way despite you aiming somewhere else ( frames, dead tanks, bushyes and yada yada yada ) although, sounds cool i guess. more stuff for our minions.

regarding the tank, the option is already a thing. if you have AT nades, your soldiers will throw at them very efficently ( if they are standing still )

mh, not trying to be the black whitch, but in a game like enlisted with so few ammo, i don’t see how this can be usefull since bots usually works that when they are getting shot at, they will snap on the shooter and deal with him quite quickly. nontheless, i still would like to see it for cinematic affect and other stuff.

too many buttons to press though, would work better if you have some sort of rts map. or just a simple radial menu.

certainly. many orders are needed. but in enlisted gameplay, they currendly do not serve purpose due to how chaotic this game can be. and majority of the time, you do not have that time to command your troopers.

although, in custom matches with " realism " and stuff like that, i guess it could work, and i would love them to see.

I slightly disagree, it’s working but only on the move, not while defending - at least I believe it so.

problem is, it gets ignored when assign a capture/defend order ( which it’s what i’d say a bit more than 50% do ) and sometimes, even the hold order.

Exactly what I wrote, only while they follow you. It’s a pity.

the wide one is to much crawled for a wide one. anyway,

its almost sad how narrow the wide formation is. i think it should be wider and formations in general should be less like single-file
