exactly. maybe that is why we need balance in game and not “historical accuracy”.
except that ±1 bullet is difference in few BR between weapons.

Probably yeah? Or apply it to all helmets. But I would say helmets being a cosmetic slot should be only cosmetic.
far from only that.
maybe you should go play any other shooter? For this game, “historical accuracy” is very relevant.
certainly… fedorov, rd44, as44 in stalingrad and berlin is peak historical accuracy. not to mention t20, m1944 hyde, half of japan stuff etc.
What’s so funny? The game is set in the Second World War, not in a fictional alternate universe or future.
are you certain? tell me battle where as44 and rd44 were used? tell me battle where type hei AR was used. battle with type 4, type ko, type hei, type otsu? battle where japanese used ofenrohr? battle with t20, conders, kikka and su 9?
and this is only stuff that comes on top of my mind that was never used in ww2. i wont even bother with listing all the late war stuff in moscow or early war stuff in berlin or equipment mismatch in other battlefields.
whether you like it or not, we are playing game in alternate universe ww2 where all this is possible.
The T20 exists because the FG42 is not being used as a paratrooper lmg,
the M2 should be the us assault rifle you could then remove both the T20 and Hyde 1944.
and yet you storm Berlin or Omaha Beach, not the base of the little green men on Mars. This is a game and there are conventions in the game, but the developers try to adhere to the setting of the Second World War as accurately as possible. The weapons have quite accurate characteristics. The developers also change these characteristics in accordance with the documents.
if this is criteria for historically accurate game, then we can have abrams storming omaha beach and be HA.
BS. e.g. AVT40 is quite uncontrollable in full auto IRL, while it is one of the most controllable ones in the game. not to mention same caliber guns having different damage depending on if they are BA/SA/MG.
simply devs want balance in the game, whether that is with prototype weapons as an alternative to stuff from other nations or with performance across similar class of weapons. body armor is one equipment that ruins balance by giving an edge(no matter how small) to one nation and that is why it needs to be removed. so if you want to use historical argument, then please remove all unhistorical equipment that wasnt used in ww2 from the game.
just like any other similar rifle, for example FG-24
No, it does not give an advantage and will not be removed.
well all SF rifles with rifle cartridge were shit.
i will just misquote our canadian here:
If it gives advantage then it should be removed, if it doesnt give an advantage, then there is no problem with it being removed.
No, there is a problem with that. It requires programmers to work on it, and in the end, a considerable part of the code needs to be cut out, while preserving the armor for the premium squad. And all this is just like that.
I dont think i have ever seen Soviet main fighting so hard to keep something that is clearly borked. What the crazy SMG’s that allow you to dominate BR1-4 not enough? Or the amazing MG’s and AR in BR5 ? You still manage to lose somehow ?
Sure lets keep the armor. Germans instead get “cosmetic” Panzerschokolade that gives them 15% faster actions (reload, weapons switch, jump, run, sprint, walk, craw, climb etc etc etc).
I mean its historical after all and it was widely used till the last days of the war.
You dont mind right ? Asymmetrical balance and all that jazz.
Ugh Work.
Work sucks. Devs already do too much work.
Excuse me, but what is your winning percentage?
i am a programmer… do you know how much time i would need to make body armor give no bonus? half a minute if i know in what files those additional modifiers are. nothing to cut, just replace 0.9 modifier with 1(or -0.1 with 0).
they dont even need to remove body armor, just modifiers associated with it.
How difficult is it to add a separate modifier? Like run speed penalty?
Ridiculous
61% Soviets, 61% Germans, 51% USA.
So how about that Panzerschokolade ?
depends on how it is implemented. it can be as simple as just adding another row in body armor modifiers(most probable) or it would need some modification to game logic which should be rather simple(few minutes to half hour job). key word is should be cause some programmers can make things rather complicated.
