In the upcoming update, Enlisted will become even better! Optimization will improve, a new setting will be added for powerful PC owners and it will become easier to understand what different graphics settings are doing!
These are not the only improvements on which we are focusing our work. In this devblog, we will show you the results of just one of our development teams.
Ultra quality shadows
We noticed that when the sun’s rays are almost parallel to the ground, there are so many shadow casters that on medium and even high shadow settings, level geometry was not rendered into cascade shadow maps to reduce the system load. In the comparison below, you can see how different this was in practice from what the game was trying to show you.
For players with powerful PCs, we’ll add an additional Ultra shadow setting. With it, you’ll be able to fully enjoy detailed, high-quality shadows. Meanwhile, on medium and high settings, game optimization will be improved at the cost of disabling some visual shadow effects.
You can adjust various graphics settings to improve the visuals of the game. To help you better understand what each option affects, we have added tooltips for each graphics setting based on your feedback! This will be useful for both PC and console players. Check it out, commanders, you might learn something new!
I don’t know if Ultra Shadow setting is Ray Traced Shadows or not, but you could use NVIDIA PCSS for weaker hardware, as it should be cheaper than RTX and has a similarly good visual result.
It’s strange how it was never used except for a couple titles.
but what about all the iluminations problems that interiors causes? kinda tired of getting killed in deep dark rooms or corridor that are almost impossible to see even with max gamma
Can you fix correct resolution not loading upon startup while you at it…
And yes I don’t care f all about better looking shadows on leafs when there is so much more pressing issues like core game mechanics, gamepace, vehicle and soldier customization, a system for choosing which Campaign to play, East Front, west Front, Africa or early or late Maps.
Scrap BR and other things.
Graphics is nice but feels irritating only when we still not have things like tank Camo not chaning depending on Map. get to functions we NEED instead of fantastic looking leaves
This is exactly what I’m talking about when I say the devs no longer care about this game. No one asked for this, just like no one asked for more defined tracks from vehicles. Hey, Devs, why don’t you do something useful and no touch the graphics for a year so you can focus on actually improving the game!
Different developers focus on different things. In this dev blog, we show just some of what the graphical improvements are.
That does not by any means suggest that we’re going to “forget” other parts of the game. There’s of course loads of things being worked on, and you’ll see some in this update and some in future updates.
Well why cant the graphical team make actually requested improments such as better gore, less janky animations, dynamic camo for tanks, random turret number and insignia etc?
I seriously think they need more manpower and better content prioritization… looking from overall content and quality they delivered in the recent year. Or IDK how much time they put into both April fools and Halloween zombie modes but if they could really spent less resources on that temporarily things and put it into actual permanent stuff like animation, weapons, vehicles, maps, QoL, we could’ve got so much better and more stuff to play with in the main gamemodes by now.
Sorry, but the last few updates were nothing but graphics, graphics, graphics, and more graphics. So that tells me that there are no other teams working, but graphics. Honestly this game doesn’t need any better graphics right now. If they spent half the time that they do on pushing out graphics updates that don’t do anything for the game, Enlisted would be in a much better place right now.
