I’m not forgetting anything, the 17 pounder can front pen the KT alright, what is lacking is post-penitration damage, because the Brits didn’t use explosive filler. This would be remedied by adding more spawling when kenetic-only rounds pierce the hull, maybe even have them bounce around a bit, and also by actually making APHE rounds explode in a cone (360 explosion is unrealistic, and OP).
You sure about this Il, if you mean turret sides and Mg hole that still wont be enough , I guess this and tortoise would be enough giving choices to players.
I mean yeah, the hull would be a tough nut to crack, but peircing the cheeks could still lead to ammo detination due to the stored rounds in the turret, right? Spawling buff would increase the chances of this to happen too.
And again, I’m not asking for the best thing ever, I know it won’t be great, I’ll still use it.
A good suggestion in this forum eh. A rare find!
Thought it could also turn into very random gibberish, I’m glad it hasn’t.
Uk/commonwealth could easily be a BR V nation. (To be clear I just want dedicated sub tree)
Pinacle plane options that quite frankly, would be the most scary in the game (Tempests, typhoon, Spitfire Mk 9-24, Firefly, Meteor)
Decent tank options Across all BRs that can still punch, even for BR 5 (Black prince, Centurion, Comet, AVRE, TOG II, A.C IV, Tortoise) and many more
Plenty of small arms that could have their stats aligned to be BR 5 suitable. They might not be “the best”, and they dont have to be. Just Useable
The Thompson Prohibition and 1921 100 are a good example…tweaked stats, far better than other thompsons that, while not the best, wreck quite at comfortably BR 5
As far as Assault rifles/SF you could just take the Charlton Automatic rifle and give it BR 5 AR/SF recoil, reload, accuracy and wullah…you have an AR or SF
Despite being named “automatic rifles” I think the Charltons are closer to MGs
The Reider is definitely AR though
yeah but they can call them what they want…Type Hei and Federov are both Automatic Rifles/SF and MGs in Enlisted for example
apart from some stat line they decided to peg to it…whats the difference
Just the debate about weapon classification. Automatic rifles have long been controversial and hotly debated. What do we do with them. Keep them with Riflemen, move them to Assault/ MG, new class.
So with the plausibility of AR being removed from Riflemen, the meta would change. High tier would only have SA. While it may seem Britain lacks semi autos, there are of coarse prototypes that could be added to give them decent SA
Also one of the Charltons was a Premium MG so it’s sibling would be a MG as well.
I am one that would prefer this. Riflemen semi Autos only. Even it were Riflemen semi Autos only Commonwealth is covered. Turner rifle with 20 round detach mag and Farquhar-hill rifle
Im just commenting for what is now, and that considering what other BR 5 nations are using…could easily give commonwealth something too
Yea like other people said, the issue with a British faction is that they’re lacking in potential equipment for high tier stuff unless you were willing to add in entirely different nations such as Greece or something (as strange as it sounds adding Greece would maybe plug 2 of the biggest gaps in a BR5 British lineup) but at that point now we’re back to putting nations in other nations.
The issue with the Centurion is that the actual WW2 prototypes had a much thinner UFP than the actual production Mark 1s, ends up being not actually a match for the Panther at all.
I don’t know if you’re suggesting the 100 round Thompson for the British techtree but if you are, to my knowledge the British never purchased any 100 round magaines.
I know you guys already talked about the whole nebulous nature of ARs vs LMGs but imo it’s kind of too late to add the Charlton as an AR the precedence has already been set that they are LMGs. Also they were directly made to be replacements for Bren guns and used as such so yea.
No, that’s not the main issue.
The real point is that there’s literally no benefit in having two seperate TTs instead of just one.
Just rebrand the US TT into Western Allies tech tree. And fully integrate British stuff in there. Add equivalent of every squad to have brit/US ones (to get customization options) and so.
You don’t need a brand new standalone TT just to have proper support for the UK stuff.
Having two separate TTs has so many negatives. Mainly that you can no longer combine new British squads/stuff with American ones to create interesting lineups.
Not to mention it would definitely include many copy pasted stuff. Plus your old US/british premium squads couldn’t be used for research new TTs.
Separate British/Italian TTs are just not player friendly concepts. And they aren’t needed to have proper support for said nations.
maybe not its own tree (although it wouldn’t be bad either), but a sub tree in the allies tree, it has several vehicles that if they fought as prototypes that didn’t reach the war as experimental ones (A41 centurion, Tortoise, callenger, comet, Archer, A43 blackprince etc) and many ugly and rare weapons but it has them in addition to airplanes and bolt-action rifles would be moved from the gringo tree to the British tree, pairings would be made like in war thunder, where the flags of the allied factions would be seen against those of the axis and even other sub factions could be included
And the APDS of the 17-pounder? Did you forget? Or are you just overestimating the KT?
You’re probably right that it will never happen, but in all honesty, the Brits were in the war a couple years before the US, so, realistically they do deserve their own faction. The only chance this could happen IMOP is “IF” the players in unison demanded that the Dev’s incorporate the UK as their own faction.
It may not be necessary. The British and Americans will still match together, but I do hope to see more British weapons, and it seems that the science and technology tree needs to be sorted out.
Not gonna happen unless they merge WT with Enlisted. Which will happen once game’s population drops too low.
