I see why not many people play engineers

100 Engineer points with 61 kills and only score 3502.

engineers dont have to build so much though, Just the essentials (ammo, Respawn and the odd at gun or aa gun). They are no different than ordinary rifle men and have the added bonus of being able to build some lethal emplacements that can really rack up the kills if you know how and where.

I always use engineers.

because they are spading other squads

That’s what I did.
I agree with you that engineer is similar to a rifleman only if they not in an engineer squad.
I think Engineer especially Engineer II is very powerful. You can counter tanks camping in the gray area with AT gun. If you managed to build the MG nest in a good spot behind some cover or concealment it is very difficult to push as the MG nest have infinite ammo.
You can turn the tide for a bad game with a good spawn point. I just wish with all that efforts engineers could be awarded with a bit more score, hence more exp.

why tf woudl the selling point of the engineers be the engineer points? They can build AT guns, Anti airs, and machine gun positons the spawn points plus ammo crates and tank traps barbed wire and sandbags, if someone needs the engineer point instead of all the cool shit they can build in order to win games and deal with threats he/she is mentally deficient.

Well, engineers are what can allow a team to achieve victory.
And therefore get additional experience from the victory bonus.

Otherwise, you would get that the victory bonus.

Being an engineer it’s not always an easy job as it might seem.

Although, I disagree. Engineers should not get more xp than needed.

Otherwise people would cheese off because of it

But that is what I think of course.

Just to be clear, The only thing Im disagreeing with Is I often come first with huge scores using the engineers, But not because I focused on building. I block a few doors, put down ammo, then go on the offensive with my unlimited ammo.

I will agree however that if you want to lock down a point, it may win the game for your team, but you don’t get the recognition you deserve (as in score rewards beyond the win). Just maybe the thanks of team mates…which you cant use to buy anything lol. (and lets face it, people are usually too ignorant to know what you did, and would rather call you noob than thank you lol)

I get that people are trying to spade other squads, me too. However, you don’t need to bring a dedicated engineer squad you can just have 1-2 in the squad you are trying to spade.
An assault squad for example you can choose to bring AT gunners, engineers or radio operator. Engineer by far is way better IMO than the rest. I feel like people just don’t want to play engineer.

In the picture I’ve posted I have 61 kills, 1 vehicle kill, 100 engineer points. The person in 5th place on my team have 65 kills, 1 vehicle kill, 0 engineer point. So 100 engineer points in a 25 minutes game only give an extra 600 score?

Wow! talking about all gas no brake. Why are you so angry?

a lot of the bomber guns can be inefficeint at times, also at guns have th biggest range and can be used against infantry, aa guns have a gun shiled and can go throguh sang bag and mg positons have unlimited ammo

Build your engineer stuff ten go fight - engineers get 2 sources of score/xp - and one of them is completely passive - build something, other people give you points…straight awy they are better than a rifleman - plus they help a team win…

Every point an engineer gets is 1 a rifleman can never get… your score would be even lower without 100 uses of your enginering.

Now that you’ve put it that way, I agree. Why do you think few people play engineer despite them being being essential to winning if not making victory much easier to attain?

No idea- seems like a no brainer to me…

No you did not. I build the essentials every single game and rarely go over 50 engineer points doing so. What that picture seems to me is, you spamming the map full and expecting points. If they are not used you get no points.

If your engineer stuff all got used once you would have had 1500 points from engineering alone.

But I did.
It’s a 25:38 game also at most 3 ammo boxes are allowed at any time during the game.
It was an invasion match. I build ammo boxes and spawn rally near the objective. We were on defense, we played until the last objective. What do you mean spamming the map full? You said it yourself “If they are not used you get no points.” . I was the only person doing most of the building, I literally provided a screenshot.

I thnik he means the points count for every “use” - and some uses are worth more than others - spawn point at +15 is the best, but I think you get a few points for enemy trippping over barbed wire, friends shooting (or maybe being shot at?) behind sandbags for example - these can add up to lots and lots of “uses” - but not as many points.

It’s just friendly troops taking cover behind sandbags I think. It’s 5 points IIRC.

Most people don’t play engineer’s and do useful stuff that aid the team because most people play for themselves and not others and couldn’t care less about being useful sadly. However there is a small minority of people that do play engineer and are actually a use to the team.

Most people would rather just sit at the back as sniper, being useless in a plane or just being derp in general.

if we reward engineers its gonna be competition amongst engineers which result lots of point destroying and Griefing. We need set immunity and radius where new points can be make.

I play Engineers as Squad leaders and I feel that fits their role better. I put an Engineer as the number one spot, Set up a Rally on a Flank, maybe build an ammo box, maybe build some cover on an exposed line of attack I want to pursue, then switch to a Soldier I want to play for a given situation.

They’re the most important unit in Enlisted from my perspective and any Squad feels neutered to me until I get that first Engineer to lead the team.

I personally don’t give a darn about the rewards Engineer get for their items. Just being able to build the items alone is benefit enough for me. The fact people worry about how much score an engineer gets for building such beneficial items keeps me up at night.
