Instead of maybe changing some variables here and there, they completely nerfed them to the point where you team starts complaining when someone starts using them a lot. Small area artillery is way more powerful than 5 bombers saturating an area.
I really wish they would revisit them and up their damage considerably, while adjusting how many times you can call them.
I want that feeling of “oh sh*t” when game says enemy bombers inbound. Players scramble for cover or someone grabs a fighter plane to defend or shoot them down. It’s just a useless mechanic now.
Dont really mind, though maybe 20x 250kg is a bit much. How about 3? Though i would keep br 1/2 bombers overproportionately weaker vs. the other ranks, since many of the fighters are so weak that intercepting the formation is really hard.
I see your point but i am not sure if giving people a guaranteed nuke is the way to go either. Because then there will be again a nonstop bomber fleet, because the cost to spamming player is 0, the rest of the team is blocked from arty and the enemy team has to react, otherwise nuke.
It’s not so interesting in the end, because the there are only obvious consequences.
It might make sense to actually randomize the br4/5 load between 1, 2 or 4 250kg bombs, so you also cannot be sure how strong the attack will be. So it’s between meh-good-nuke.
The other team can be fine if they ignore it, and spam payout might be low.
But that can sort of be a good thing “in my opinion”.
Because if casuals start going for the big wipe bomber raids, your artillery spam is going to be much less as more and more people lock it out by calling in a bomber wave. its like a 3-4 minute lockout of the teams arty.
And quite frankly, most pilots love going for them now anyway so not many would make it to target.
They should buff the payload with 10 bombs each and make every bomb Anti personal bomb like Frag/scattered mines, the trade off is buff the AA too, faster build time, revert all the nerf and makes them reliable killing bombers and any planes, as it should be
They also should nerf the paratrooper plane making them doubled the spawn distance, but that’s other topic
Not to hijack/derail, but this is at least topical and I’ve Googled - and searched here - to the best of my ability.
The other day I found myself airborne in a BR III Bf 110 with the rockets and large gondola cannon in a BR V match, and was shocked by my success in intercepting a bombing run.
While I lined up behind the formation to lob those big 37mm shells at them, I was NOT greeted by the expected hail of .50 BMG! I thought there was some bug, but upon knocking them down, I noticed the killfeed listing them as A20s rather than B25s, perhaps explaining their lack of multiple turrets/gunners?
Is this correct?
Is there anywhere that lists the bombers one can expect to encounter based on a given tier/faction/map (old campaign)?
These little things pose no threat to tanks most of the time
Not to mention they often fail to fully cover the bombing zone
Destroying heaven and earth is the essence of bombing
We need faster and bigger bombs
I’m personally just not a big fan of features which force a counter and the decision is always the same. So this would be too easy.
The level of arty is also generally fine. Dont remember being much bothered by it recently. But if you think the frequency is too high, lets have that discussion without a map wipe every 5ms.
