I Hate randomly exploding

I just played a game where my entire team kept just randomly exploding from planes and motors. one guy on the enemy team had 181 kills and 2 squad deaths how is this suppose to be fun. I don’t mind getting my butt kicked from enemies that I can fight but having three to four squads sitting back and just bombing from afar is just not fun. please nerf bomb planes and motor squads.

There are enough people who grinded or payed to win there ridiculous 250kg bombs by now. Game is a joke at this point. As infantry you are just a farm target for Pilots, Arty and Mortars. Game becomes indeed more unfun every day.

Yeah I have to agree that it feels like planes are playing their own game where they farm the rest of us playing the infantry game. Unless you have an engi squad sufficiently levelled and the willpower to suffer through boring ass gameplay theres virtually nothing a ground pounder can do against aircraft currently. Just not a fun mechanic for those on the recieving end when there’s very little counterplay. Tanks are strong but there is a lot of counterplay, so it makes it fun for both sides. Planes have very little counterplay.

It’s similar for artillery/mortars who just sit in out of bounds areas spamming for days, no counterplay possible realistically.

Yes, it makes artillery spam look like light rain.

I still have no idea if you’re meant to die if you’re in a building. I’m guessing that’s a (very annoying) bug.
Nothing says fun like a whole squad exploding while they’re capping a point inside a building.

They really, REALLY need to balance heavy bombers. Especially as they can crash the plane during a bombing run, and still get just as many kills, then spawn back in a short space of time.

I would say this is a high priority issue, as it’s really tiresome to play against and will put a lot of new players off.
It’s right up there with the old issue of being bombed right at the start of a match. Which thankfully they were smart enough to address quickly.

That said, I agree that it is frustrating and definitely needs to be looked at.

The 250kg bombs are dumb, and have waaaay too big of a blast radius. It would make some sense if the visual of the blast matched the size, but it doesn’t so sometimes it just feels like you get deleted out of nowhere.

I think players are less apt to complain if they understand why they’re dying, so perhaps making the explosions huge and having the air fill with dust and smoke after one of those massive bombing runs would 1) give the battlefield a really cool atmosphere, and 2) cloud the bomber’s sight for their next run, forcing them to rely on marks (which if you’re a plane player you know is a gamble) and making them second guess their trajectory due to low visibility.

Making fighter planes weapons stronger would also go a long way, because planes seem to have been buffed in the durability department and now take a staggering amount of damage. If the fighters exclusively ruled the skies it would make sense and be better for balance.

AA guns are also terrible. Not enough ammo at all, and not nearly enough damage.

Mortars are a different story. The worst part is the fact that you cant send artillery into the blacked out areas of the map, and can’t wander into them, so if a Mortar squad is set up out of your boundaries they’re practically invincible.

All the shaking of the monitor is the most annoying part. Planes are the worst since there is no efficient AA to kill them, don’t see how to fix them without removing planes (which would make sense considering how small the maps are). Mortars could be limited by not being able to refill ammo while artillery could have their wait time increased to 1 minute.

Welcome to war? Where in the war did buildings not colapse on being bombed and if not collapsed, why is an entire team dying while in cover from bombing runs? Nothing war like nor realistic there.

I understand that I am dying from a bomber and makes me mad all the same, spawnkilling, point harassment from explosion, entire team dying from 1 bomb run even if they are using cover??! Nah.

Anyone bombing a spawn should get a temp ban and then a permanent ban. I know this won’t happen but these are the players who will more likely pay to win and thus killing the game (that’s why they won’t have anything happen to them, because these companies are money craving dishonest untalented money pits).

to be honest i dont think mortars are this much of a problem, yes they are REALLY annoyng when you find them but atleast i dont find them too often and as a user of mortar i thought of some fix to make them more balanced. 1) reduce the blast radius, its a 50mm mortar but feel like im using a 81mm mortar 2) make them impossible to use inside the spawn so a mortar team have to be outside the grey area so it can be killed 3) make some special area in the spawn where players are completely immune to mortar bomb, planes bomb and rocket. What really is unbalanced is the artillery that while i must confess i enjoy using it, it really need some fix and balance. Since buildings dont cruble they could make beign inside a building immune to artillery and reduce the shaking and buff the cooldown to 5 minute for normal team and 1m/ 1m30s to artillery team…planes are really a mess to be honest, i understand that a bomber is a very efficient way to eliminate infantry but now its a joke… before i remember shotting down a bomber with a kar98, now planes are immortal…to destroy an il2 on moscow i had to waste all the magazine from my flakverling and while hitting with the 80% of the bullet fired i destroyed the plane only because the pilot grew bored and suicided…same with the fighters, fighter are useless because the damage treshold of planes is really buffed now and are almost immortal.

They should add static AAA guns on the map since waiting for an engineer to build one is not viable, they should buff the AAA guns too.

As a plane main, i can indeed confirm that the ground menials are cash crop farm…

Joke aside, yea, the air is ungodly strong with no counter outside of going air yourself… while surprise AA can sometimes kill me, if they shoot too soon or miss it’s over for them and everything within 100m of them.

I get they dont want AAs to be super anti-infantry weapons on top of being AA, but they actually were in combat and it’d be better to have super AA than unstoppable planes. Tanks can still counter AAs and the AT cannon is basically a joke when there’s heavy tanks in the battle.

Arty is just cheap spammable and honestly, if the enemy is camping in the rear calling arty that’s 1 less contesting the objective so i thank those kinds of people. Mortars are ungodly strong and spammable, best option i can suggest to counter them is main air and farm their spawns cause typically mortars camp there… and if they’re doing that, it’s justified to treat them as nothing but extra score.

That’s a great idea, and would help players who haven’t unlocked AA guns yet. It would also help if they had icons on the mini map, so they are easy to locate.

The plane is way too durable…even with engineer’s AA hitting most hit, it takes quite a long while to down one.

Sure sucks to die to a mortar but still takes time setting it up at least unlike arty and actually guess where people are if there are no markers. Got to put ammo crates down maybe build sand bags so dont get hit by snipers and be out in the open.

Think there is a hint that says something about using a wide formation on load screens.

Only thing would change is you can’t use it near spawn points. Maybe cut ammo crates of non-engineer squads to 1 or 2.

It would be good if the overall radius of the bombs were nerfed but in return the resupply zone was moved closer. That would also solve the kamikaze pilots ‘problem’.

Wow, this title is kind of misleading…

In any event, yeah… Mortars, Artillery, and Aircraft can all use some more work.

Artillery - The 8x faster option on the radio squad is crazy powerful

Mortars - They are to hard to counter (especially in a gray position) and should have to relocate periodically.

Air - Reloads and not a lot of counters. AA are only available on the Engineer Squad, There are limited Air slots (that are monopolized,) non-premium players have to choose Tank or Aircraft that leads to less Aircraft capabilities, and reloads are incredibly easy/fast.

I feel like they might of nerfed the 50kg bombs because everyone gets access to a plane with those at a accessible level (I say accessible because that’s what the lower levels really are - accessible, whereas the mid and higher levels are borderline inaccessible for the average F2P player). The 250kg and 500kg bombs definately need a nerf on their effective radius. I can be nowhere near and still die - many maps are just not big enough for the 250kg and 500kg bombs. The bombs affecting you and any destructible objects inside the building needs to go too.

Mortars would be incredibly hard to find too, even if you could send arty into the “out of bounds” area or wander into that area. They could still just sit in some obscure far-off place in the map and no one would notice because the spotting system sucks, the draw distance and visual range sucks, visual fidelity at long range leaves a bit to be desired, and there are hardly any appropriate effects for explosions, firing your weapon, smoke etc. To find the mortar team you’d actually have to get close to them to be able to see them, and for that you’d have to have an idea of where they are firing from.
