Hungarian Additions to the Axis Tech Tree

Heja II – Rank II Premium
VW4QJvp

Background: It was a license produced RE.2000 fighter of Italian origin, however it replaced the Italian Piaggio P.XI RC 40 engine rated for 985 Horsepower with a domestic Hungarian built and license produced Gnome-Rhône 14kfs engine, rated 1085 Horsepower. It also replaced the Italian 2x 12.7mm Breda Safat Machine Guns (700RPM and 765m/s velocity) for Domestically produced Hungarian 2x 12.7mm Gebauer machine guns (1000RPM, 800m/s velocity) which were definitely an upgrade compared to the old ones.

Loaded Weight: 2520kg
Engine: Weiss Manfred K-14B (Gnome-Rhône 14kfs) - 1085 Horsepower
Wing Area: 20.40m2

Max Speed: (Military Power)
520km/h at 4300m

Rate of Climb: (Military Power)

Hungarian Anti Tank Squad - Rank II Premium
image
Hungarian soldier with the Solothurn S-18/100 20mm Anti Tank Rifle

Another standard kit of a Hungarian soldier was the 35M Rifle

8mm x 56mm Cartridge & 730m/s velocity
Compared to even 7.92mm Mauser Rifles, it should have higher damage due to bigger bullet.

As a side weapon the Hungarians used the 37M Pistol
7 Round magazine and 300m/s velocity

The Premium Squad should make use of all 3 weapons.

I wpuld love to have more Minor Axis Countries represented. However the Axis tree is super bloated! It would be cool if we had an independant Italian TT and the gaps could be filled by Hungary and Romania.

Issue is Italy lacks proper Tier V tanks.

Maybe sub faction tree like in WT where its just its own line of weapons/vehicles.

Japan too.

But Enlisted found a way to give Japan a BR5.

In addition, Italy doesn’t have to have a BR5. Even though there is probably enough equipment, Japan didn’t have a BR5 immediately after the merge.

But japan actually doesnt need that fake Ho-Ri
They just need the Ho-Ri II of which 5-6 were being produced when the war ended or the O-I which was 90% built in 1943, and did mobility tests in early 1943 but then got scrapped later that year is a valid Tier V option. Italy has the issue that… Their best tank P.40 is Rank III material. Sure you can give them a rank V late panther and Rank V late Tiger I, but thats the best they have. Unless we start adding stuff like Hungarian 44M Tank or P.43bis mock up

Very true.

Yes. The Italian Tree could also house the Hungarians so they can acess the Tiger and 44M.

I wouldnt be opposed to the P.43bis
#1 because the Ho-Ri is in the game
#2 for balance

P.43 Bis is still just a tank with bit worse armour than Panther G and same firepower as Tiger I, early Tier V at best. 44M TAS is better overall

44M TAS - Rank V (2 Partially Completed, Mock up was also built)

Stats: (Panther A as comparison in Brackets)
Weight: 38.0t (44.8t)
Engine: 520HP (690HP)

Length: 6.30m (6.87m)
Height: 3.00m (2.995m)
Width: 3.50m (3.27m)

Turret Armour:
Turret Front: 100mm (100mm)
Turret Sides: 100mm (45mm)
Turret Rear: 50mm (45mm)

Hull Armour:
Hull Front: 75mm at 60 ° (80mm at 55 °)
Hull Sides: 50mm (40mm)
Hull Rear: 50mm (40mm)

Armament: 80mm 44M L/58 (75mm KwK42 L/70)
Ammunition: APCBC - 8.0kg at 872m/s (APCBC - 6.8kg at 935m/s)
Penetration:
180mm @ 0m at 0 ° (190mm @ 0m at 0 °)
72mm @ 0m at 60 ° (71mm @ 0m at 60 °)

75mm at 60 ° / 80mm at 55° hull is better?
Well… against 75mm APCBC rounds…
75mm at 60 ° offers 202mm Equivalent Protection ----- 44M TAS
80mm at 55 ° offers 175mm Equivalent Protection ---- Panther
This means the sloped hull on 44M TAS is better protected than the Panthers.

Technically the 44M TAS can be divided into 2 tanks for the game
Early Version with the same gun as Turan III at Rank IV
Late Version with the 80mm Gun at Rank V

Last Thing to mention…
The 80mm gun on 44M TAS is powerful enough to defeat panthers upper plate whilst the Panthers gun isnt strong enough to defeat 44M TAS’ sloped hull which makes it superior to the Panther in a head to head confrontation. I also reckon the 80mm HE on 44M TAS will be better in anti infantry role than the 75mm HE on the Panther.

I think this is the best route. And German players would be pooled with Italian, Romanian, and Hungrarian (Id add in Vichy French and Croation in the German Tech Tree as well and mainatin the Czech stuff in the German tree). players so there would be no change in the current match making system (so the people who think more tech trees dilute player base will not be triggered).

Yes you are right.

Sure but first they need to add more Italian vehicles

The Ho-Ri II armor is meh so it is more suitable for br4.

While this is a valid br5 tank, this will create IS-2 situation for Japan, the reload might be even worse due to heavier shell.

Ho-Ri II has 125mm thick frontal armour and same powerful 105mm gun

O-I has 2x 47mm econdary guns

O-I will be a meme greyzone camping tank it won’t be able to move across most roads, remember that how many narrow paths are ther with tiny wooden bridges. And with Burma it will be even worse a lot of areas will be completely inaccessible.

About the O-I’s armament, Ive read so many different sources with so many different weapons, From 105mm to 15cm for the main gun and then 7.7mm MG, 47mm gun to 70 (Infantry Support Gun)/75mm(AT Gun similar to Type 4/5 we see in game).

But yeah if we could tie down exactly what the O-I was all about, Id love to see it in game. Not to mention a poetic licence could be taken in the pursuit of balance since I’ve read that it had armour up to 150mm thick which would put it on par with the KTH which would be pretty cool for Japan.

Though as someone else said, the pacific maps would all need to be redesigned with how big it would become, which tbf is needed as none of those maps work well for vehicles unless they go into a cheesy spot and basically grey zone camp.

That is for the casemate, it still use the Chi-Ri hull with 75mm of armor which can be easily penned by a br3 75mm gun Sherman. Not to mention 125mm is still nothing against 76mm gun sherman on br4.

Not really, it will have the gun of the Ho-Ri prototype which has worse penetration than the Ho-Ri production.

Useless against tank at br5 and has too little explosive to target infantry even you have two.

Nah the Ho-Ri II was to use the type 5 105mm on the Ho-Ri production.

Anyways the weaker 105mm is still more powerful than IS-2’s 122mm and tiger ii’s 88mm

One of the best Hungarian additions they could add is the 44M Páncéltörő. It’s essentially a Hungarian Bazooka, firing domestically designed 60mm rockets:
