That’s why I played the first (and maybe the last fight) today to make a video proof that the IL-2 can’t do anything Hs 123 A-1(of course if pilot not full idiot).
(I’m sorry, maybe I’m too bad a pilot, first of all I’m already awake for 30 hours+, and also I haven’t played war thunder and the like,so most likely I played worse than an normal pilot and maybe soviet pilots too very bad)
So in one life I shot down 4 IL-2, 5 could not get into my tail and crashed into the ground.
To almost always shoot down the IL-2, you need to follow four rules.
Never go into a frontal attack, remember, a biplane is a piece of cardboard.
Open fire only from a short distance, otherwise there will not be enough ammunition.
Stay as close as possible to the IL-2.
Go for a ram, if you run out of ammo, there is a chance that you will shoot it down, and it is much
higher than the chance that you will be able to fly safely to reload ammunition.
In my opinion, the same tactics are used here as with the rest of the planes so you just need to remember, and not write dozens of topics: “Il-2 is an OP, please remove it.”

Looks like the IL-2 pulled out too late. Or just suicide rush. Same pilot as 1), so either is possible.

Your guide is good, but I wouldn’t say it always works. the mgs just don’t do enough. As proven by what is shown in these kills. I wouldn’t count n.2, as you didn’t get the pilot. The rest are luck or pilot failiure on the IL-2s part. And you almost never have any ammo after this, meaning that they could’ve gotten away, had they flown better.
The hs123 just isn’t consistent enough in these things. I’d say this guide would fit the 109 better, and there it would have a much higher success rate.
But I do agree the “Il-2 is an OP, please remove it.” stuff is stupid. Sure, it’s a good plane and hard to shoot down with mgs, but cannons have no issue with it and It’s not really the most unbalanced thing in moscow rn.
With upgraded tail gunners on IL2 (second one) you would have been dead meat!
Also focused fire on a wing is better than tail, you emptied your mg rounds pretty much, if you shoot and focus on left wing, you will see them go down much quicker!
