Howa type R-1

This is a prototype of the Japanese Type 64 rifle.
Wait, I know what you mean. Yes, this is a 1950’s gun and one that did not exist in WW2.

However, they had run out of ideas for a rifle for the Japanese military’s BR5. If Darkflow were to add any more BR5 firearms to the Japanese military, it might look something like this.

with how screwed Japan is I’m not sure if this is a bad thing or a good thing and if it gets added what other abominations are coming next

I’d rather next br would be entirely separate from br 5. “Cold war br”. That would never mingle with br 5 and under.

Unless someone willingly bring lower br stuff in br 6+ matches.

No they haven’t there is still Sig ke-7 which were used by Chinese can be given to Japanese as AR it has both 25 and 50 round models and they can give Japanese STG-44 in an event since they had purchased six of those and there was type 2 smg in 6.5 which would fit the bill of AR that’s I think is enough we don’t need to add more than what is necessary

Then they can focus on giving Japan other stuff like there are tons of LMG for Japan

As much based as ass44! So it works

I don’t want this game to leave WW2 for a looooooooooooong time

I mean it would make these STGs unique since they are used by japan anyhow its up to devs here is the purchase contracts

How unique could they be? Different metal or wood finish?

Some kanji markings?

Yes but minimal as Japanese M38/43 had minimal Kangi on it

Maybe oxidized Metal wich would cause them to be red (Like pps event gun) since they were not maintained also maybe they could make stocks broken or somthing

also about M38/43
In June 1943, the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal submitted an application for the purchase of a batch of Beretta submachine guns in the amount of 350 units with 20 round magazines.
Before Italy left the war on September 8, 1943, in early August, the first and only batch of M38/43 submachine guns, 50 units with 150 magazines and 50,000 rounds of 9 mm M38 caliber, arrived at the Yokosuka base.
In general, the Japanese version of the M38/43 is not much different from the Italian one, except for the absence of any markings with the full name of the manufacturer or affiliation with the Japanese fleet; there are acceptance marks in the form of a kanji and letter marks (in the form of two letters) on parts manufactured by Beretta.
The main purpose of these submachine guns remains unclear. Perhaps they were purchased for comparative tests (but a non-standard cartridge for Japanese weapons), or perhaps for sabotage operations in the rear of the Australian, New Zealand and British armies (which used similar 9mm cartridges).
One way or another, this was the last purchase of small arms by the Japanese fleet. It should be mentioned that in March 1943 in Germany, 5 MP-40 units were handed over to the military representative of the Japanese army for review, the further fate of which remained unknown (perhaps they remained in Germany like the Tiger tank purchased in 1944).

If they were to give the Japanese more BR5 firearms, a captured Thompson or StG44 would be appropriate.

It’s that simple, but I think the Darkflow probably want something eye-catching to keep their player base alive. So they needed something uniquely Japanese, which led to the emergence of the mostly fictional weapons Type Hei and Tokyo Arsenal.
Therefore, it is doubtful whether StG44 will be given to the Japanese military,It seems likely that premium squads and event squads will have it.imo.

No need to worry, Type 64 looks great on imperial Japanese army uniforms.

It’s a real wonder how Japan lost against Soviets and their ppsh. Beretta 20 is clearly op against shitty 71 ammunition ppsh that juste waste bullets!!!

I believe that, too that’s why most likely candidates are SIG KE-7 and Type 2 SMG in 6.5

Oh yes and lets not forget MP-28 which doese 1 more damage than PPHS thats why its better

I agree.
They added a lot of late war or fictional weapons as endgame content, but that shouldn’t be the core of the gameplay.
The most played content should be BR3-4, and they should rather add new toys to that tier. That’s why I also want BR5 to be separated from 3-4 matching. However, they say that due to the poor player base, they can’t divide the matchup any further. If the Steam launch is successful and we get a larger player base and decent matche makers, we’ll likely see more BR3-4 content in the game.

…Well It seems that making the Steam launch a success will be an extremely difficult task. :stuck_out_tongue:

This Is the Nambu 6.5mm, officially Is training LMG but Is very small and can be used like an smg/AR withaut issue for the game

These fire wooden bullets man
(and were built to use wooden-bullet blank ammunition instead of regular cartridges)

About the only gun I would see fit as an “assault rifle” category for IJA is a Dutch M.15 Madsen gun

madsenM15

With shortened barrel and chambered in 6.5x53R dutch mannlicher ammo, it would be similar in performance and role to Fedorov AR soviets have.

About 3k were captured from Dutch KNIL forces in Indonesia. They were present on Guadalcanal battle in 1942, used by Japanese soldiers.

found M.15 Madsen on display at Guadalcanal Relic Museum

Yea and Is a problem? For balance everithing compromise Is fine, so there Is 0 issue in let the gun use real ammunition in the game, also or is this one a cold war rifle or another type hei, japan is gonna get his assault rifle

I mean when there is SIGke7 and type 2 smg with 6.5 then this is the last thing I would think for AR

When giving overseas firearms to the Japanese army, the Japanese army obtained Fedorov itself and drew up the drawings.so they also have the option of giving it to them.

However, Fedorov aside, it would be difficult to put Madsen in BR5.
Because the Soviet Union uses Madsen in BR1.
