they even captured some AVS during border conflict with soviets
Last time Russia fielded Madsens in any significant numbers was 1905 war with Japan.
They had their hand full with other stuff until 1914, and Danish were selling almost all Madsens to Germany (a very aggressive neighbor).
Attempts to set up a factory at Kovrov in Russia in 1917 failed due to sudden communism. Said factory opened Fedorov production instead.
Mass-fielding of Madsens by every beginner Soviet is a pure fantasy.
Giving Japan captured weapons (or imported weapons) would be easy for Darkflow. Just reuse existing assets.
And it may be more historically accurate than adding a bunch of fictional or prototype weapons.
However, in my imagination, I don’t think Darkflow wants that. Again, even if they did, it wouldn’t be something that would be promoted as a major update, but would be a small piece of news like Event Squads or Premier Squads.
They are always looking for interesting additional content that will attract more customers.
In that sense, Japan has exhausted its unique weapons when it comes to small arms. Therefore, I think it would be difficult to stay in the WW2 era and add unique new weapons to the Japanese.
Well, if it’s limited to low BR… There are many things that have not yet appeared. Murata guns etc.
I really don’t think guns made after the conclusion of ww2 should be added if possible. Captured weapons, paper guns, anything but a gun made for NATO in the 50s. These guns may not perfectly fit the mold of Japanese assault rifle, but I am sure some substitute from the suggestions already listed in the thread could be found.
Tokyo Arsenal M1928:
The other prototype Tokyo Arsenal design, fire rate not as high as m1927 (model currently in game). 18 round magazines.

MG 15nA:
Bergmann MG 15 n/A machine guns were imported to China by Fengtian warlord Zhang Zoulin during the early 1920s; many of the arms sales that equipped his forces were brokered through Japanese dealers (the Fengtian Army was heavily backed by the Japanese government).
Hino-Nambu rifle:
They made the “Tokyo Arsenal SMG” which is not a drum magazine (it has a drum-shaped Magazine Housing) into a drum magazine.
If that level of fantasy is allowed, I think Dark flow could create something like the Type-11 kai, which is a Type-11 machine gun converted into a box-shaped magazine and converted into an assault rifle.(Battlefield 5 already did that.)
I think the type11 prototype has a cool heat shield and can be differentiated from the existing type11.
Or like the cursed type 11 that appears in Chinese dramas… (This is really uncool, so I hope you don’t do it.)
I think going down this route would be very preferable to using cold war weapons, plus it is the direction Darkflow is already going by adding more and more obscure Japanese weapons.
wtf is that lmao.
Even in old Japanese war movies, the Type 11 was brandished like an assault rifle.
It may be good to have a high BR version of type 11, just like there are many versions of Thompson.
Modified type 11 that handles like an assault rifle
Yeah, I started this thread, but I don’t want you to add Cold War weapons.
well, It would be a different story if in the future all factions extend their tech tree to Cold War and a Cold War campaign is added. lol
i was just thinking about how this gun reminds me of ar-15/m-16, googled it and saw it was based on AR-10.
but really not fan of cold war weapons inside this game.
Oh, and the R1 is modeled after the AR-10 and G3.
The development of the Self-Defense Force’s Type 64 rifle was carried out manually by Yoshikazu Dokane, who was involved in the prototype Type 2 machine short gun that also appears in this game, and engineers involved in the development of the Type 4 rifle participated.
In Japan in the 1950s, the M1 Garand loaned to the U.S. military became unusable due to wear and tear, and there was an urgent need to develop a domestically produced automatic rifle. Therefore, in addition to their existing know-how, they needed know-how on straight stock automatic rifles, and the R-1 was born as a result of research on the AR-10.
However, the R-1 had several problems, and production stalled.
The United States tried to get the second-hand M14 adopted as Japan’s official rifle, but engineers were reluctant to do so, and there was an urgent need to solve the R-1’s problems. So they went through several versions, redesigning the R-5 to be based on the Simonov-SKS and ZB26 rather than the AR-10, and finally completed the gun.

The type 64 currently used by Japan’s Self-Defense Forces is based on the R-5, so it can be said that it is based on the SKS.
it’s going to have too eventually so sorry bud.
You’d be surprised how lethal wood is at high speed, especially when it splinters into a million pieces and becomes a surgeon’s worst nightmare.
He said for a long time, Not never.
Plus the devs said it will take a while to hit Cold war era.
Let’s just hope it’s not going to be fighting B.R V stuff.
then pls explain why I’ve seen some of these forum dudes who don’t want cold war at all lol.
Due to Enlisted is marketed as a WW2 game.
Has so far been faithful to WW2.
and lastly in general the playerbase is full of WW2 nerds, Leading to in general a want to keep in WW2.
Much like War thunder was marketed as a WW2 game until it hit cold war where now it disappoints people who wanna play M1 Ambrams.
I feel alot of people will find DF will have to do the same, So B.R Six will exist full of early Cold war designs meaning you have to grind past all the WW2 items to get to it.
They dont need it
Tokyo arsenal and hei auto slaps hard.
Have been trying to play muricans at high br with BAR and m2 carbine but japan stomps everytime.
Its like every veteran suddenly decided to play japan.
