How to fix faction bias

Win loss ratio of each nation for the past 24 hours gets monitored:

Soviets lose 10% more matches than Germans?
-playing Soviets grants 10% Silver bonus

Japan is losing 50% more matches than the US?
-playing Japan grants 50% Silver bonus

Germany is losing 300% more matches?
-yes, you heard me right - 300% more Silver

This would fix this issue completely.

No, it would be completely the same thing like cap speed artificial balance.

The developers just couldn’t react fast enough. And instead, it would contribute to imbalance.

What do you mean? I didn’t say they should hire some sort of little Korean that watches over win statistics - this should obviously be coded into the game.

Silver bonus being applied automatically.

Well, why wasn’t the cap speed imbalance then coded?

I just don’t see some artificial balance is a good way. It’s extremely toxic.

This has nothing to do with balance, just an incentive for players to play on the losing side.

Guess it could help a little but doubt it would have massive impact tho

you would just get daily swings in other direction. random assignment (aka join any) would be much better option. you would still get roflstomps, but at least they would be random.

This doesn’t have much effect. Due to the limited balance ability of the production team in the game, each balance can only lead to a one-sided situation, and each balance takes up to a month.

isn’t what " play all team " was supposed to do anyway?

edit, actually no. only partially help to form matches.

so i guess, why not.

or it becomes an instance of a post each day that tells everyone … hey this faction has the biggest boost and it amplifies the problem.

Why not make a public winning rate table?
The three camps with the lowest winning rates will receive a small amount of experience and silver coin gains (10%, 15%, 20%)
Then players will flock to camps with no advantage and the table will continue to float.
That should solve the problem

Which is better than losing 90 % of my axis matches in 3 months in a row, just because the devs for example introduced the Pershing.

Back some months ago I had a axis winrate of like 10% - and I consider myself a very good player that is even if losing in 90% of my matches the player with the biggest score and kills from both teams.

With my proposed system I would have gotten at least a 900% increase in silver, thats how bad it was during that time.

You can’t tell me people would still play only on the winning side if there wasn’t such boost, or in other words such insane boost would never come into existence.

The game would be muuuch less one sided this way, and remember, the game would automatically adjust the silver bonus based on a real time win rate observation of the past 24h - no way to abuse this other than more people playing on the losing side once the bonus starts rising.

Its a self adjusting system, which benefits players greatly because Silver unlike XP is not bound to a faction.

this will not fix problem same way as global balance map adjustments wont fix match imbalance for one match.

e.g. what if there is 50% more WR for soviets in last hour/day? you get x bonus for playing axis and all veterans just flock to axis giving 50% more WR for axis for current hour/day. this will just repeat itself hour after hour or day after day.

bonus to join any would fix a lot of problems, or at least mitigate them severely.

btw i have almost completely different experience after introduction of pershing. it seems like both japan and germany had their WR boosted cause nobody wanted to play US after trashing japan was giving to them.

No, because the winrates should be calculated from the total matches from the past 24h.

A rise in Silver bonus would grow very slowly and even a 10% bonus would already make some people play the other faction. Of course this turning would repeat it self constantly, but in no way as drastically as you picture it.

There is one major difference between those two systems.

Because there is no punishmet system for people leaving their matches, they could press “join any army” and leave every match that isn’t with their preferred faction.

My system however is specifically based on the idea that you get bonuses for playing on the losing side, which you would want play to the end.

I highly doubt, since most veteran players already have several milions exps pre-grinded.

And I definitely do not be playing random factions for some pathetic reward.

The best way how to counter faction bias is to group up with friends or some other players you know and that’s it.

averages suck for calculations. averages over long period of time suck even more. overall you will get very high oscillations per hour basis cause not all matches are evenly divided throughout the day and cause of data purge from last day.

if one faction had 50% advantage for last 24 hours at e.g. 18:00, to get it even (cause you would get bonus till then) most of the players would go play opposing faction and on calculation for next day at 18:00 second faction would have 50% advantage.

sinus function is example of that

easy way to fix that. you dont get bonus for join any for any desertion in last 5 matches

some people wont do it, some people will. i play all factions and could use boost for xp/silver if it is worth something (not pathetic 20% they proposed)

My opinion is to do what I have read a lot of people, including myself call for and that is to go with 3 tier’s, 1-2, 3 and let level 4 be that floater between level 3 and 5. So if your squad is level 4 then you would be put in either 3 or 5. But 1 or 2 would never go against 3, and 3 would never go against 5. Then, create better bots who can do more then stand there and look stupid waiting to be killed. :joy: Seriously, I doubt this game is ever going to have great match making, however it would be better if they would match make levels with similar weapons.

 Wow, how long did you hold on to that before you had a chance to use it.

not much… just googled it…
