This would assume that everyone would care for the silver that much that it would matter.
The big problem with this system might be that now people can see who wins more at the moment and join the bandwagon of victory farmer even easier.
A lot of the unbalance is player made so giving the playerbase more transparency and power to manipulate the MM might only make it worse.
