How to destroy a panther with a US tank

im going to explain to destroy/disable a panther with US tanks (m10 excluded)

if you cant flank it, it’s literally invunlerbale, getting smart its the best option.

angle yourslef if you have jumbo, destroy first 1 of the tracks and after the barrel this will force the player to come out and repair the tank.
in the mean time you need to load an HE and pray to kill some crew member, if you have any other tank than jumbo you’re basically dead best course of action is leaving the tank.

you can also try to shoot at the mantlet of the turret but with the AP/HEAT round you’re not going to do anything.

If you cant flank it, then just get out of the tank and throw a blast pack at it

All this is powercreep at it’s finest.

Axis mains whined they can’t kill the jumbo from the front, even though they really could, my panzers had no problems deleting them frontally.

Now axis mains got the panther which is truly invulnerable from the front to any useful and not dogshit american tank, and they say this is fine and balanced.

Eventually we will get an US tank like the 76mm jumbo that can punch through the panther turret and you can actually use the tank, and then it will go back to axis mains complaining the jumbo is overpowered and ask for a tiger or king tiger next.

And so the cycle countinues.

then allies will complain to add m26 perishing

Well the Panther is basically the jumbo but far better, BUT it still can’t pen jumbo so give give maus already.

You joke but I can guarantee you there’s a number of people on this forum that will say it’s justified and fair.

step 1 - exit the tank
step 2 - run to the Panther
step 3 - throw tnt
step 4 - run back to your tank

Step

1 exit your tank (if the enemy tanks didn’t already obliterated you and o the mg/enemy squad)

2 light jog trough bullets/exploisons hoping you can arrive to it

3 survive enough in the Grey zone to actually get a good throw (Nad hoping you don’t miss for that white screen)

4 realize the enemy tank has moving capability and It’s not there anymore.

The Panther vs M10 just doesn’t seem balanced. Historical comparisons go out the window when you have a tank battle on the Normandy beaches in the first place, so it really comes down to balance in a gaming sense. And the tank fight just isn’t balanced. The M10 should be a lower tier tank and the Jumbo a higher tier on par with the Panther.

If you want realism, I guess you can permit the US side more armored vehicles in the match if the Panthers are intended to be this impenetrable since that is what ultimately defeated the Germans as the US played catch up in the war (though the Jumbo faired far better in real life than it does here since it was a big leap forward).

I’m disappointed by the lack of balance. I guess I will play the Germans until the devs fix it, because this kind of thing just alienates players who wasted all that time getting to level 30 only to realize their side is gimped and quit playing.

The problem then being that the Jumbo isn’t on par with the Panther. All that armor don’t mean shit if they can still kill you and you’ve got crap for post-pen damage on your solid AP.

I mean the Jumbo in the game should be fixed so it is on par with the Panther and have its tier swapped with the M10. The WWII M4A3E8 Jumbo had a 76mm gun that could penetrate the Panther and most tanks. The final upgrade to the Jumbo was amazing. This just isn’t that. The Panther was obsolescent by the time the Jumbo was upgraded so it is weird to see it so inferior here.

Well, the 76 did a better job than the 75 at any rate, and I guess if we’re not removing jumbo and panther, giving the jumbo a better gun that it could have had makes as much sense as anything else.

Not even a little. Panther had it’s issues, but the design was ahead of its time for armor layout. Along with with Pershing and T44 it’s the closest thing designed in the 40s to an early MBT.

it still breakdown every 5 second but yes.

yeah, but that mostly wasn’t engineering issues, it was materials available. by the time they were trying to make Panthers in number, Germany had serious shortages of basically every material they needed to make the parts, from Steel to Rubber to copper for wires. It’s brilliant design for the time, would’ve been monstrous if they could have simplified it or had what they needed.
