How to buff the HA-GO

The HA-GO needs buffs, and there’s multiple ways to do it.

-Give it HE rounds: I know 37mm HE sucks but you can’t even destroy sandbags with it because you’re shooting AP and AP seems to do no damage to sandbags, HE would extremely help.

-Give the gunner/commander a “commander” view option: Essentially when changing views you view out a port similar to how commanders do in other tanks. With this you can still shoot the main gun without the color changing reticle and the main reason for this is to let you use the cannon and MG at the same time

-Let the rear MG be used: Another “change view option”, but it lets you use the rear MG whenever you change views

<Will never happen but suggesting it anyway<

-Give the HA-GO and other Jap tanks face hardened armor: Face hardened armor would protect you from .50 cal bullets for a little bit so you don’t instantly get obliterated by M13 in a few seconds. This would require some kind of armor wearing out mechanic but we know that doesn’t exist because you can pound the same spot with shells and the armor doesn’t buckle at all.

The commander view would be nice, the face hardened to stop the 50s is a hard not, historically the ha go could even be penetrated by 30 cal in some places. The he would be kinda useful but it’s 37mm he so it’s really questionable how useful it is. What hurts jap tanks the most in my opinion is just how limited their mgs are .

Same as rapt0r, commander control of hull mg would be nice. he won’t make much difference, and I disagree with better armor.

I don’t think HA-GO should get buff, I like the fact Japanese tanks are lackluster.
You shouldn’t try to counter american vehicles with Japanese tanks. Instead you should get AT squad members (which are pretty damn good in pacific).
Everything shouldn’t be top notch balanced, it wouldn’t be interesting.

Instead of buffing HA-GO, they should somehow buff AT Japanese stick. It’s kinda buggy from my experience. It would be very funny and interesting counter to American vehicles.

Try to accept the fact that Japanese tanks aren’t good. And if you insist on using them, you should consider it as personal challenge.

And I myself already maxed out Japanese campaign.

HA GO is a infantry support tank and sucks at it. None of the suggestions I stated buff its AT capabilities.

Yes HE is questionable but if you can’t destroy a sandbag with it because 37mm AP apparently doesn’t damage sandbags, HE would be useful.

I overall agree but i don’t think there should be intermediate unlocks that are literally useless

As I said, I don’t think HA-GO needs buff. I don’t really know why you insist so much on ability to destroying sandbags. It wouldn’t make this tank even slightly better. Would something like this increase its anti infantry capabilities? I don’t think so.

I think this is still better case than Jagdpanzer unlocked aftwr tiger on normady XD But yeah, you are right.

at least the jagdpanzer is better at killing jumbos

Is it? I never even try JP. :joy:

Ha-go isnt open roofed compared to Ta-se, so you could consider this as valid tradeoff.

Only thing i want from my Ha-Go is that i could use MG in back of turret!

I’d like them to add the HE which is missing, much as with any other case of historically present features missing from the vehicle, but I don’t think that stuff like FHA would really change the outcome of the state of the tank. That said, I do find its clunkiness to be part of the flavor/charm of it, I just wish they didn’t act like it was a peer to the M2A4.

Well FHA armor is a stretch yes, I only suggest it because M13 ends it in 2 seconds from a solid burst

Issue is even with the most generous improvements, such as WT’s high hardness armor value, the RHAe only receives a 1.25x modifier (non-modern to clarify, modern HHRA is 1.1x, not sure this basic HHRA armor is used on anything either). That a massive modifier and definitely more than what would be reasonable to expect from a 1935 design, but even afforded such generosity, the M2 .50 cal AP rounds will butter through that, as it fails to even break the 20mm mark.

well, theoretically. tiger can’t pen jumbos frontally too well, and the TD’s gun has better pen… i think. if someone knows better do correct me though

Yep, 75 on Panther and Panzer IV (70) has better pen than 88mm on Tiger.

yet AVT 40 behaves like assault rifle, yet soviets has all the guns like fedorov, Fedorov MG, RD-44, premium AS-44 and other made up bullshit to better counter possible STG spam

me too, but that would be a gimmick that would be very uncomfortable to use

i think the best middle ground is having infantry weapons be pretty balanced, maybe soviet gets better smg germans get better lmg (kind of like how it was before lmg nerf), and one side gets better tanks, the other gets better planes (like how it currently is in moscow). normandy also follows this but tbh the fedorov is so powerful it just blows everything the germans have out of the water so moscow and berlin are skewed towards allies
