Lik even if some later game players use these things, they’d use them differently.
You certainly wouldn’t use a 3 man squad with one sniper with a kar98 and 2 dudes with basic carbines. Or an assault squad with 2 dudes eith MP38s and, again, basic carbines.
These are the players which are most common on my team. I can tell they’re noobies.

Then you could enjoy the OP Mp40 as soviet, you could take the full advantage of slow rof & small magazine that magically makes you conserve ammo as its clear disadvantage for ppsh having high rof & big magazine.
Also the massive 0,2 more dmg at range.

I have never compared mp 40 with PPSH.
I compared it only with PPD 34\38. And they are equal, I like the first one better.
The competitor of the PPSH is kiraly, and kiraly is better in my opinion. Fortunately, I played with both of them.
I think the tech tree just need a rework
so its not just level 1-2-3-4

Level 38: Same reasons unless just a tank hunter.
