I met a CRAZY bob the builder last match, who turned every cap into fortresses. Yet, I got the award.
But the guy clearly deserved it more than I, all I did was place rallies at good spots, ammunition and med crates…

idk i just did my thing and got it
Maybe you just had more useful placements that were used more often by your team despite building less compared to him. That’s my guess anyway

or maybe the builder award are a sub reward i guess but since you got best engy it didnt give you one

For some reason, even during this event… Only I and another built rallies this match…
I topped it up with ammunition and med crates.
Maybe the enemy enginer only focused on defense… 
The minimum requirement for the award is 250 total score you got significantly more engineer score than the other player, hence why you got the award

Yes I know… But you should have seen how the other guy turned cap zones. It was insane! And really fun to navigate with caution, I felt that thrilling.
I guess he just didn’t take the time to place good rally points.
Another good example as to why good rallies are oh so important 
yeh, since barbwire activations only give you 6 score, they won’t really help you getting the award

I am a bit lost here as a main engineer, why?, quite clearly you out did him in all aspects of game, and even had 2 points more, what’s the question?
my bad was looking at top player other team, didn’t see the 60 engineer points on No 4 player,
ok my answer will be that no matter what you do, if you kills more, die less u win, the prize, he had half the body count double deaths, didn’t capture, didn’t kill planes/tanks, , i will go further and say its the system, but meh as if any one listen.
He just built way, waaaay more stuff. I only built rallies, ammo and med crates. What the guy did was a work of art, I just felt he deserved it more than I.
But to confirm, I did another where I only built a well placed rally, many, maaaany med crates and ammo boxes:

The building points, or xp, accumulate each time someone uses your builds.
It’s different from your building count

I spawn build rally, go to point, if i can get there, and prepare sand bags on point?
Sandbags on the bridge in Berlin can up an insane amount of points.
I only ever built them hoping to win or defend the objective, but damn… the fact that you get points every time they are hit is gold.
i only came up with this after a awesome game in BR II, we were gone, being forced, back, made a rally went to point, which is worth more points??
then proceeded to just lay sand bags around perimeter, and scores were just goin off, was insane, just constant score showing up every time i saved a life 
, and fun
