Can’t, there are a bunch of other annoying numbers like, 2, 3 and 4 that all demand to be used. We should eliminate them all so everything is now M1.

I think it’s a good idea to add a gun that is as efficient as the mp43 because if it’s a unilateral special gun I don’t think it’s fair that one side has an smg, the other side has an assault rifle. It turned out to be an unfair fight, although the smg was good at close range. But in the end, the assault rifle performed well at all distances.
Even ‘nerfed’ mp43 is miles ahead of thompson in any real combat situation…
Nerf was just ‘paper dps’ loss but this isnt turnbased elf roleplaying game so its effect is almost undetectable
Oh well one is assault rifle one is smg.
But since ive got 0 intrest to debate about it you may pick up which ever response from earlier conversations.

- invent a time machine and ask murricans make better guns
- its totally fine and give immersion to game
- just switch sides and grind it for yourself
- thompson is smaller so it hides far better in bushes than stg
- due to higher recoil you have to burst in order to not waste bullets like you do with stg so its actually a good thing
- fully automatic accuracy is probably better for thompson but I forgot the formula how its calculated, something about spraying mindlessly ask ricky about this.

Just give the thompson better sights and half of the “problem” is solved…
and same time we can ask germans fight better and not lose at normandy… oh wait this is game and not historical document

in real life the STG was the best weapon of the entire war, simply because you could take out enemies at 200 Meters distance with one shot, while also having a smg in cqb.
Now technically there were Thompson variants that had a rate of fire of 900 rpm~, which were undesired because the US considered the Thompson to be “uncontrollable” enough , and to make it stay on target they had to use expensive compensators which alone would cost a fortune - which resulted in the “more modern” versions of the Thompson to be cheaper and tweaked to fire at 600 - 800 rpm~ depending on the variant.
Now In my opinion the STG should always be superior in longer range combats because the STG was a rifle and not a SMG.
However, my Idea would basically be to add two new types of Thompsons in order to turn them into S Tier weapons, like the FG and the STG.
First would be a 30 round 900 rpm Thompson
Second would be a 50 round drum 700 rpm Thompson
Right now the standard Thompsons dont compete against the STG simply because they are “even” inferior at CQB.
Also if they buff the M2 Carbine to be nice at mid range, the US would have the option to choose between great close range weapons and great mid range weapons.
It’s unplayable anymore, I scrapped all my mp43 for mp34 on Normandy and mp3008 on Berlin

i have played the MP43 on normandy, and 90% of them were not upgraded weapons, and even then I think they were better than max upgraded Thompsons.
Actually the max star accuracy increase is something I prefer because my playstyle is mid range combat, so for me I consider this actually being a buff instead of a nerf.
I actually hope the defs also change the sniper MKb so that the upgrades give better accuracy instead of higher rate of fire.
Wait till Axis realize how devastating the BAR 1919A6 is. MP what!?!? 
The Fw 190 A-8 has only 2 Wfr.Gr.21 rockets, 2 13 mm Mg and 2 20mm Cannon. While the P-47D-28, at the same level, has 10 HVAR rockets, 1 500lb bomb and 8 12.7 mm MG. Do you think it’s fair at the same level?

To be fair, Normandy air balance is really strange, owing to the fact that the allies get their fighter squad first while axis gets the Attacker squad first. Although, I suppose the devs did this because by that time the Luftwaffe couldn’t produce any ground attack aircraft to rival the American shit, so they just put weaker stuff earlier and called it a day.

Honestly, M1 thompson is better than MP43 after the last STG nerf.
It basically has the same hitpower even. Like, wth?

Liar. The Thompson m1a1 is one and a half times better at close range and 25-30% better at 100 yards in damage. Now the MP43 has the lowest DPS of any high-level weapon.

The Thompsons are one and a half times better than the MP43 and better at 100 meters by 25%. Look at the table or do the math yourself.
