Show us an objective where you can effectively hide a APC to protect it against arty (7) spammers, planes, tanks, det packs
An ammo box inside will do the job 100x times better
inside the objective.
even if does not the job faster, can be better for other things.

What youre gonna drive a halftrack through a human sized door now?
I can think of literally 1 objective where a halftrack would fit under a roof in it. Its in Voskhod settlement

i know it might sounds crazy for you, but some people can and has all rights to use what they want even if it might not SOUND effective to you.
take as example the previous argument. people take over planes or tanks over infantry. buut there are still people that goes with at infantry.
so with the halftruck, it’s no different.
I can just build a rally point before I atack (whitch is impossible to do with an APC). So even if my engineer die I can soon respawn a new squad with a new engineer.
Also my engineer can hide in a building where he won’t draw attention of planes and tanks unlike an APC parked on the street behind some obstacles.

your whole argument is that people who are not using engineers (and that takes 1/6 slots in squad) would use support vehicle that replaces engineers… you see how stupid that sentence sounds…

this would be like using puma when you have tiger available.
but i agree that half track have use in current meta. they can be useful as wreckage to cover infantry approach.

Cover against small arms, ok. Problem is that everybody is capable of destroying any vehicle in 5s so your cover is worth shit. The only thing that changes is that your squad won’t be picked one by one but everybody will explode at once.

beside, you can, use them if you want to. just like any other thing in this game.
