Since the last buff, the M1928A1’s only difference from the 21/28 is the optic—so why not move the M1921/M1928 down to BR 3 instead

M21/28 have higher recoil V/H ratio, makes it more controllable than M18928A1

Thank you for your post, I agree.
I think generally DF could do a better job spreading similar weapons between BRs.
For instance all the BARs are at BR III, and for a while all the Thompsons were BR III-IV.
The M1921 is an interesting one because while it has a high ROF, its quite uncontrollable so its perhaps not as good as the devs think at BR IV.
I wish we had some other British or Commonwealth options like the Sterling for instance.(tested in 1944/1945)

And what? By that i’m assuming you’re leading into one being BR2? The A1?
All the thompson being BR3+… huh, it’s almost like their power represents that.
Balances it out a bit with german getting m38 42 though.
Because for some reason this is just me but actually prefer using that one for its slower rate of fire
Finally another player making the same post I made a while ago. I don’t like the m1 Tommy too much so I’d be definitely using the lend leased m21/28 with my Russian squads. However I’d like for the mp35/1’s rof to be increased (to 850) and v/h ratio changed to compensate for it. Then add the stick mag m/37 then you should have a couple good br3 smg’s for Germany to balance it out

Only if we bring MKB42 or Kiraly to BR3. Right now Germany is at massive disadvantage vs PPSH-41 box and with 21/28 that has much more comfortable recoil than any Thompson they will stand no chance against both nations.
Zk-383 with just 6.8dmg/810 rof can’t compete vs Tommy M21/28 with 8.2dmg/810rof with vastly upgraded recoil/dispersion stats
Mkb42 clones like Stg45 and Horn Stg also would get downtiered.
Germany would get cucked hard again. Give them Mbk42 or Kiraly at BR3 to be able to compete against power creep.
Thompson M21/28 is the most accurate and fastest reloading 30 round Thompson in a game, it also has 2nd lowest recoil and lowest dispersion of all of them along with good recoil direction and perfect ADS speed. So i highly disagree with claim it’s the same “and only optics are different”.
Bring it to BR3 but only if Germany gets something just as strong too along with it. Germany is lacking in smgs, lacking in semis, has worse lmg, panzer got relegated into 3rd place (T-34/KV-1/Sherman are stronger).
It’s fine at br4 at the lowest

That’s quite a divisive opinion. I main all factions and am aware of the disadvantage of all German assaulter weapons. I actually believe that the MKB 42 can pass as a BR III assaulter weapon. It deals 45% more damage than the PPSH box, but only 50% of the firerate. Balanced.
Against the M1928A1 Thompson, it offers 17.5% more damage and 30% less firerate. Not exactly balanced, but it has higher accuracy and bullet velocity, which balances it a lot more.
The Kiraly is too much for BR III, with higher damage, higher firerate and larger magazine capacity. The MP43 could also pass, although it may still be slightly too much for BR III. Maybe for BR IV, as no one really uses it in BR V.

I say kiraly makes more sense at br3 since you can apply the assault engineer squad in a br3 lineup if you downtier the mkb to 3.
There is only one of them plus Soviets can have 2x Paratroopers with PPSH-41 box which you can deploy 66% of the time vs 33% of the Ass Engies. Rest of the squads would be balanced as it’s mkb42 x4 vs PPSh-41 x4. Soviets also have this thing at BR3
So don’t act like only Germany is problematic, entire Soviet nation at BR3 is full of overpowered squads and weapons.
Need NKVD Thompson in US tech tree.
