Nobody truly likes it… But it’s necessary to protect the spawning zone from spawn campers.
A wild suggestion to solve the issue: enlarge the playing field, and push back the spawning zones (those must remain in the grey, just farther away.)
Second suggestion to accompany the first one: halftracks, troop transports, vehicles. Like the motorcycle ones. Those would be new squads available at low lvl, thanks to a campaign tech tree instead of a campaign boring line.
“But Joe, why would I spawn with this instead of my meta assaulters squads?” You might ask?
Glad you hypothetically asked, my curious friend! The benefits would be twofold:
first the squad would at least allow the possibility to bring one engineer guy. Once the distance is crossed, disembark and build a rally point.
second, And it’s the actual new suggestion to promote teamwork… give a bit of xp for the driver, depending on how many passengers are carried in the apc, and depending on distance traveled.
It’s wishful thinking I know. But bigger playing fields, sidegrades and campaign tech TREES, and lastly transport vehicles are things I want to see in Enlisted.
He asked for a rework for put them in, unlike you that in 45 topic keep asking for add them in the current game state
And as we said and m13 proved add halftracks Withaut rework make them usless to use, fun drive 20m and a tree stop you, or drive on a road and find a junkyard
It’s why DF needs, before implementing them, to enlarge the playing field first (which would solve the grey zone tank issue).
Tunisia Oasis map for example. Instead of focusing on a tiny fraction of the map at any given time, imagine if it’s entirety was open to play (or at least a big part, we will wanna see ppl), but original spawn points remained where they are throughout the match…
Then I guarantee those transports would be welcomed.
Being fair it would probably take a new mode entirely for it, with perhaps more players per side
(I’m being wishful again)
If not… halftracks and armoured cars would still be fun additions as sidegrades in a reworked campaign tree.
I think the train map in Berlin shows that the grey zone can be opened up significantly without negatively affecting gameplay.
I love the idea of half-tracks and armored cars getting more use in this game. There are plenty of situations where they are entirely viable on current maps; light armor is still effective against small arms and there are already plenty of useful lightly-armored vehicles already in-game.
Halftracks need a proper campaign with a different approch on map, grinding, general gameplay
Actual campaign never should have them because their map are made for infantry cqc, tunisia is an exception in terms of open space, but still an exception wo is killed outiside oasis clauster of map
yes. and if they add them in tanks slot they will be useless and if they add them to riders, you will have half of the team as vehicles and that is stupid for game balance. best thing would be to increase map size, increase player count and then get them in separate rider spot. also optimize map for vehicles and get some more vehicle cover for half tracks.
