Grenade Balance overall adjustments, not just Impact Grenades

Jack of all trades? They can destroy tanks and structures pretty well but some of the heaviest tanks aren’t completely to get sometimes.

They kill infantry but not nearly as effectively as frag grenades.

They don’t make smoke.

They don’t make poison gas.

They don’t start fires.

They seem like a jack of pretty much one trade.

I’ll wait here for the overwhelming evidence that being a tanker in Enlisted is scuffed.

The day that tank slots aren’t constantly filled.
The day that tankers aren’t most often at the top of the leaderboard.
The day that one tank can’t dramatically alter or control a battle.

Making it harder to kill tanks will break things.

Trying to force people to use AT is not a worthwhile venture. Most AT isn’t very effective against heavy tanks, particularly in the hands of average players. As to the notion we should damage tanks by going after tracks and then fight… yeah, that’s fine sometimes but if that’s THE only way for most people to deal with tanks then take repair kits away or cut their uses down dramatically.

Tanks don’t need help.

Implementing all of that is impossible, so the devs condensed all of that into the det pack. And honestly, it’s better this way.

If you honestly believe that then how the hell did they even get the vehicle repair mechanic functioning

Shameless thread promotion time

I’m in favor of just reducing the throwing range of explosive packs to something like 10-15m

What an infantryman can do to damage or destroy a tank out of position is limited only by his imagination. If they went down this route, it would be a neverending stream of requests for something else to be added to this mechanic, which would be a constant drain on the devs resources. Meanwhile fixing something requires significantly less creativity as you have to do it the right way. That one was a one and done addition.

We can make it so you can use the wrench to do some damage to tank components or hammer or shove some mud into some of the viewports on tanks.

That is still minimizing everything that an infantryman can do to a tank, and the devs would be flooded with requests to be able to shoot shoot into the engine deck, pull the pins from tracka and whatnot. The det pack is a significantly better representation of this aspect of tank combat because it’s all of that combined into one.
