It would be perfect to add some good weapons for USA to make game more balanced. It would be nice to see weapons like M1919, M1928 Thompson with 50 round magazine or M1945 Johnson lmg in the game.
Introducing theese into the game:
M1919: high level weapon, pouches aren t working or are required to use this weapon, bad mobilty but powerful
M1928: high level weapon, probably it should be best smg for Normandy Allied side¨
M1945 Johnson lmg: high lvl, something like american FG 42.
The problem with Normandy (or any other campaign) is not the weapons. It is how they allow them to be used in squads that really knocks out the imbalance.
When you add more weapons you just create an arms race that you can never hope to win.
(i.e Add the Jumbo) ----> Axis players complain. Add the Panther -----> Allied players complain.
Do this instead.
Weight the weapons, and you start solving the problem.
Not that I don’t want the weapons you suggested in the game. I do.
But if we just have them added, then you’re gonna get ‘Allied Too powerful in Normandy, Add this Prototype Axis weapon instead’.
It will never end.

honestly, given the overall american theme of the allies in the normandy campaign, I’d love to see the M1918 variants moved backwards in the campaign and adding the M1919A6 as our last MG unlock, we’d finally have a proper machinegun.
I’d rather see this in Tunisia, for historical sense reasons. By 1944, almost none of these would have been in american service, and the brits had dropped the drums for being heavy, noisy, unreliable, and we’d stopped making them. In '41 they make more sense.
I can see the Johnson getting added for a potential Special Forces squad, but they weren’t used by the general infantry, just like the FG42 wasn’t. Probably good enough to give us a dedicated paratrooper squad, with the FG42 being the weapon for Axis and the Johnson being available for allies.
This. This is how we got the Panther.
i find that allies on NA server are op at noon-ish at i think its central time in USA and axis are around 9 pm at the same time zone
Wrong use of the word OP
So, like right now for allies, and this evening for axis?
That tracks, but I can’t figure out why. People with jobs are working right now, and unless the majority of people with jobs are Wehraboos, I dunno why the Axis would do better at night.
except i get steamrolled almost every time as axis at lunch and i get steamrolled as allies at dinner
To be honest, although the German weapons are too powerful, the US military’s weapons are extremely difficult to use, which is the main reason for the US military’s weakness. The M2 carbine and Thompson submachine gun are the strongest weapons available to the US military, because their poor vision makes them extremely difficult to use, and they can basically only be used for close combat. When using them, I feel that I am a blind man, I can only blindly shoot in the direction of the target, hoping to hit the enemy. If the enemy is hiding in the bunker or moving, it is basically impossible for me to hit him, and I don’t know where he is moving, because I can’t see it. So the first step to make the U.S. military stronger is to improve the vision of the U.S. military’s weapons. Another point is that the US military is strengthened by adding new weapons to the extension. This is very bad for players who have not graduated. The German military can obtain FG42 at level 23, the strongest rifle in the game, while the US military has Only after level 33 can we get weapons that can compete with the Germans. It can only be said that the developers lacked consideration when setting the balance of the Normandy campaign at the beginning.
Again wrong use of the word OP, because the panther is OP while the faction isn’t. So what you are describing is that your team was simply worse off than the enemy team
fair point
Weapons are more than fine for USA in Normandy.
Thanks for the support Squid. Its nice to have like minded on the game.
I never wanted the Panther in Normandy (ironically the Jadgpanther would have been more appropriate but created the same imbalance.
Have the Main Shermans that were used , and for the Axis side add the Stug III as the final instead of the panther.
Problem solved. With a Flat Faced 80mm of Armor, the Sherman with its 75mm could pen no problem.
That’s a good solution. Hell, if they had to give us the Jumbo (i don’t know why they had to) the tiger would have been easier to swallow as a response. The armor’s flat, the reload longer, and IIRC (I can’t get WT open right now) the 75mm could pen it at our average engagement ranges. Fix the post-pen on solid shot, and at that point Jumbo vs Tiger becomes more about situation and skill than anything else.
There’d still be crying about having to face tigers with M5s and M8s, so I like your solution better.
Exactly.
The M5 and M8 could easily take a StuG out from the sides. ANd it is limited by the envelope of engagement because it is a casemate design (StuG)
Depends on the shell with m61 being able to go through, albeit barely, but the m72 shell we have in game can’t go through frontally
Depends on how detailed they get with armor in this game. Is the tiger’s armor rolled homogenous, face hardened, or something else?
I still agree with soul though, because his suggestion is easier to balance and because I’m generally opposed to heavy tanks in an infantry-heavy game.
We’ll have to wait and it could be cool if they model actual effective armor of shitty late war German steel
I’d be curious to see if Axis Tunisia also did well at this time. It may be that the vets are all at work while noobies get to grind. It’s just that a lot of vet Axis are playing Normandy while most vet Allies are in other Campaigns. I mean anyone who suffered through Axis Normandy for the past 6 months is def enjoying a bit of payback.
I am one of those, I also grained the US lol, and god damn is the panther broken
I just saw a player in M8 Scott ammo racking Panther A. Was laughing my arse off.
