Toasters (Most PCs) < SeSbox < Actually decent PCs < Sexbox and PS5 < Top tier PCs
It’s really not that hard.
Also the 580 is a 1080p card and the Sesbox pushes 1440p at an appreciable framerate
RX580 is also a 1440p acceptable FPS card. It really only struggles with 4K.
not to mention even the One X with its jaguar CPU could hit the same performance targets as the 580.
The 1660 is a 1080p at max card as well unless you want to make graphical concessions to try and hit 60fps at 1440p
Again, the Series S is for 1440p where it can shit out 120fps depending on the title or the settings you choose.
Series X and PS5 both push 4k or near it at 60fps and up again depending on title and settings. Most PCs out there can’t. It’s really as simple as that.
It can if you turn things down though and depending on how well put together the title is.
and are we comparing Apples to Apples or Apples to Oranges? These games the consoles are getting 120fps on…are they specifically designed for the hardware or not?
I am playing for the most part 1440p 90 in Enlisted with my 1650 Super; 1440p isn’t as hard as people think it is. That being said performance wise the Series S is more in 2060 territory, maybe 2060S
the One X APU was severely bottlenecked by the CPU.
usually not anymore
I play Arma 3 and Star Citizen at 1440p High settings and on average depending on the server get at least 60 fps. I have a 4770k and a GTX 1080.
God I’m honestly impressed by how good even the non-super 1650 is. My kids have one and it has no issues running any of their games at max or adjusted max at 1080p
Love me 1660Ti tho.
you don’t have to spend bookoos of cash to build a good gaming rig. If you do your research and spend money where it is actually needed, you can easily spend less than $1500. I spent about $900 over 7 years on my total rig.
My new rig Im building is a total overhaul and it is not cheap but then again I use it for more than gaming and I build rigs to last a long long time. I do 3D modelling, video editing, audio editing, programming and run servers when Im not working.
I have several machines in my apartment including a Dell Poweredge T320 Tower server, 3 laptops, 4 desktops and a couple Pi SBCs (not including my networking gear).
I spent more on hard drives for my server than I spent on the server.
Ooooh, you do 3D Modeling? Same man! Out of curiosity, what parts do you have in your machine that you use as your main workstation?? Or I should say, what parts are you going to have?, since you said you’re building a new rig.
I use my GTX 1080 for modelling in Blender. I also have a Quadro P2200 in my server that I can offload to if need be.
Ah I see. Man now that sounds nice. I myself use my RX580 for Maya and any other 3D programs like Marmoset Toolbag or Substance Painter. It gets the job done so I’m not complaining. But using a 1080 must be nice tho for your work. I’ve actually been wanting to get one for my new build buuuuuuut that’s kinda impossible to do atm for a reasonable price So yeah I’m stuck with this RX580 for now
Annnnd what do you mainly do in 3D? Character modeling? Environment and prop modeling? Weapons modeling? Lol sorry for all the questions, it’s not often that I meet someone else who uses 3D like this just out in some forum for a game so I’m curious.
“Give us crossplay back!!!11”
NO!
It’s odd at the shipyard I work at, because our engineers are given Quadro RTX 4000s by default, but usually if they ask for a laptop we give them just one with an Intel iGPU (quadro laptops are too expensive to hand out to anyone but the most important), and they don’t even notice a difference between the quadro and the iGPU.
I started by doing Arma modding. Then moved on to props and environments.
That really all comes down to the workload being done. When I first began 3D modeling, I was using a laptop with a core i3 sandybridge. All igpu work. It took about 10hrs to render out but it worked. All my work has been and still is done on Linux. Windows does not exist on my network except in a PCIe-passthrough enabled Windows VM. That’s right, I play enlisted in a VM.
Salty console player spotted. If you don’t want crossplay, don’t enable it.
Don’t let your shit takes hinder anyone else fun.
