This statement is true only as long as in a normal match there are no equal skills of the player in the opposite team, I have repeatedly met with good players from the Russian forum in matches that play using meta and such fights will feel like battles of titans when one or two people per team have 100+ kills, and the rest of the team has less than 50 but in such cases the disparity in weapons is most noticeable
I certainly gave them a decent fight without using a meta of 9 fighters, but this was only possible because of my skill, but the opponents still had an advantage in capturing points
damn even after having the best AR and an entire line of strong SF rifle Soviets are weakened. the only weakened thing is player who can’t make a rally point and other when you play soviets
in that case there are even fewer reasons not to give an extra 5 rounds. You can also leave the cuirasses intact. And make the IS-2 tank reload for 10 seconds. You’ll win anyway.
i’m totally in for russian having a 20 rnds mags if they could add one to my beloved AVS-36 it would be awesome. I love IS-2 it’s sure his long reload his boring but the biggest problem i think is some shell aren’t doing their jobs properly HE is still strange
It’s not that AVT is weak, but other rifles of the same purpose (aka. T20, FG42 II, Type Hei Auto) are fire like shooting laser, lesser visual recoil bumping into your face compared to the AVT. Probably because of the dev modelers aren’t from the same persons that’s why the reload animation style and recoil bumping changed. If all other rifles got the same recoil animation treatment, I’m sure AVT, AVS gotta be one of the best because of the higher base dmg.
Not really, read somewhere that they jumped with 10 round mags because they were less likely to get stuck somewhere - so they had 1 mag as 10 rounders, rest was 20.
I’ve suggested to change the current 30-round to 20-round variant and move the 30-round to be BR4 LMG. Type Hei generally have less powerful dmg 6.5mm bullet but in trade of the less recoil, easier to control. I think this is justified their advantage and can bring it to be in line with other SF rifles which have 15-20 ammo capacity.
You should consider one detail tho - it deals less damage than other SF rifles, yes - but its just enough to one shot kill against vitality- BUT just like FG will need two shots against Soviet Body armor.
Call me crazy, but 15 round mags one shot kill vs 30 round mag two shot kill seems actually fair to me.
I read that the early versions of the AVS, released in 1934-1935, were equipped with 20-round magazines and had a higher rate of fire. Unfortunately, no photographs have survived, so I highly doubt we will ever see such an AVS in a game.
I don’t understand why Soviet armor bias still be a thing, it should’ve just gone already. Who the hell thought given one faction a 10% armor was a good idea to begin with.
Well thats the thing, it creates issues for one faction, while not influencing others.
The guns in this game are simply often balanced in a way that they barely deal enough damage for their own “shots to kill threshold” if you add even just little bit of extra survivability the bullets to kill change.
STG kills with 2 shots but has higher damage than SMGs, SMGs turn from a two shot kill to a three shot kill because of body armor, STG stays 2 shot kill.
What that ultimately means is that every gun that has just enough power for their bullets to kill in close range will need one extra shot because of body armor.
In other words, why should I as a Germany player ever use anything other than STG? This hurts gameplay diversity.
We are talking about the fact that the Soviets have meta assault rifles, and everyone else has automatic rifles, while the maximum in the squad can be only 4 assault rifles or 9 automatic in another squad, so the nations that have meta are built from automatic rifles win
Yes and the Soviet assault rifles are not significantly superior to the stg but I have never heard of the German meta from the stg anywhere although this is almost the same as the as 44 only there is no bayonet which is not critical when the weapon is used for its intended purpose
I agree, but any such statements are relevant only when teams are not equal in skill in favor of your team, it is worth meeting with a German meta player at the assembly of the Soviets or allies of the second br, then there will be a clear lack of range and killability of your weapons, you simply can not destroy enemy units as quickly as your enemy does
