Give body armour for other country

The Japanese has body armour in WW2, Germany and England used body armour during WW1.So,why only give Soviet Union body armour in game? Why not give it to all countries?

To balance the game.

Maybe give ww1 body armour as an event like the German assulter engineer.

And using the logic “it was used in ww1,so it could have existed in ww2” why shouldn’t gas be added and ww1 maps?

Maybe the Japanese do deserve it, considering how bare bones their tech tree is.

Body armour became the biggest balance scandal of the game.

Body armor should have been reserved for event and premium squads where they wouldn’t be so pervasive. Soviets need to have their body armor made cosmetic only or refunded and relegated to event and premium squads.

Which is extremely hilarious since nobody ever noticed they’re doing something until data miners bring this fact up.

This has to be sarcasm.

True, however this is publicly known for what now, half a year?

People did notice that something was off, you can notice if a guy takes more shots than usual, but people dismissed the idea because no one would have thought that a cosmetic item would have actual effect on core gameplay mechanics :skull:

I know I noticed but dismissed it as a server issue, those were common when I played Berlin.

You for sure need to have a lot of Balance and by balance you meant having overpowered shit in all categories of weapons.

It’s like I’ve said before.

“The definition of overpowered is 'something good that I don’t have”".

Some people are still crying too hard to still complain on body armor for Soviets that doesn’t do anything superior. You still die from 2 shot from semis, and few shots from smgs.

See what I mean? I never noticed the benefit either and it was normal killing. Even if they brought it up, its just does almost nothing as you still die with 2 shots after armor + vitality perk still.

it should have a downside, wearing a giant plate of metal should decrease your stamina or lower your speed or something, my BIGGEST ISSUE with body armor is that it’s free damage reduction at NO DOWNSIDE

Exactly, no one would complain if Soviets had even body armor that had MORE protection as long as there is a downside to it that makes sense.

Those plates only worked against pistol rounds anyways, so imagine a damage reduction against SMGs and pistols by even 50% - however a 50 % reduced sprint speed AND armor occupying a backpack slot instead of cosmetics.

All of this combined with not effecting full caliber rifle rounds at all.

This would make Soviet body armor semi realistic - by making it a good cqc tool with the cost of utility and being a super easy target at medium ranges.

Wrong, you get downed by G41 with one shot - because of body armor you now completely survive one shot, same goes for FG42. Also SMGs need one extra bullet to kill as well.

If it has no effect, you shouldn’t complain about it getting nerfed to begin with.

It should, at least prevent players from equipping any pouches except for backpacks or at very least reduce ammo.
Look the pictures, the soldiers with body armour on aren’t wearing pouches.

Well that’s my point - most players use ammo pouches anyways, which are not really usable with those plates.

Now by the pictures you can obviously see that one could still carry a backpack, but the same argument could be made that a soldier can carry ammo pouches together with a backpack, which is why I said body armor should be a gear piece for your backpack/pouch slot instead of a piece of cosmetic.

It’s a well known fact on the forum that body armour gives 10% damage reduction to the torso. But its less known that it’s actually broken and also provides 10% damage reduction to the back of the torse which isn’t even protected.
