Personally, I am annoyed by the presence of a huge pile of weapons in the game that can use a bayonet, but for the sake of so-called balance they are not given it.
Will bayonets break the balance? No.
Everyone uses Charge without them (swords/axes)
they will not add much to the number of kills.
So let’s fix this situation.
I propose:
Give the ability to use bayonets on all weapons in the game that actually had such an ability.
Part of weapons, that can use a bayonet, but haven't it:
People complain about the recoil reduction that bayonets add, and that is “the only reason people are asking for bayonets”. Let me prove those people wrong.
I want all weapons that could mount bayonets to have them. AND
I want all recoil advantages from bayonets to be removed, bayonets did not help in stable shooting.
Since the nades have been nerfed into oblivion, it could be fun to add. Don’t know who should get it though, Assaulters or Riflemen, both? I presume the M2 carbine could mount one just like the M1 so they could get one too.
I’ve heard that they worked in theory, but that the M2 upgrade included a third magazine catch (in addition to the normal two) to fully support the heavier mag. So it worked, just not very reliably.
I genuinely never understood why the devs could never be arsed to give these weapons they bayonets, especially when plenty of these weapons already use bayonets which are already modelled. Balance clearly ain’t the reason since the AS-44 has its bayonet, the AVS-36 has its bayonet, the AVT-40 has its bayonet, the M2 carbine has its bayonet, the T20 has its bayonet and the Type Hei Automatic has its bayonet. Literally every other high BR automatic weapon that could fit a bayonet has its bayonet. And it is also is clear that it also isnt because of the bayonet being fairly exotic since the recently added Fedorov 1912 has that funky-looking gladius bayonet. It’s just the devs being lazy and apathetic. And tbh anyone who says the adding bayonets to certain weapons is bad because of balance is just delusional.

And that’s something that really pisses me off, at that point its just negligence. The FG 42 I/II and berretta should have been quick patches and implemented years ago; but something that does annoy me to no end is the S1-100 being the exact same gun as the MP 34(o) yet the former has its bayonet and the latter doesn’t and again this should’ve been addressed years ago by now.
I would really like it just for the sake of flavor, cause Rising Storm 2 does it and its always a nice touch, but if it were to be toggable then I’d rather also have an option to make my soldiers have their bayonets equipped by default since it would be a pain to manually make them all equip it on their individual weapons - like how it was prior when we had to manually change the gun of each soldier into full auto if we wanted them to be firing on full auto
