I’ve bugged the P-38 multiple times in War Thunder with all types of supporting documentation as well as have multiple other people. I’ve even included actual mission reports in North Africa where they were bombing in. They out right refuse to give it bombs for some reason.
P-38’s as standard issue had bomb pylons from the F model forward and were even added to prior models.

It’s even in the manual…

I have more documentation, load charts, and video… I’m kind of a P-38 fanatic; however, I doubt they’ll give the 38 the bomb love.

yes they should add P-47 to Normandy

This is only partially correct. P47 did have good range, but only with fuel tanks! If bombs are strapped, no fuel tanks.
Here is a picture that shows you the range of P47 in 1943 without fuel tanks. I must admit, this is at escort altitude so they had to climb a lot, not as much if you are going to CAS mission in Normandy, but bombs counterbalance this. As you can see, its not that great. When you load it with bombs, its even less.
Here is a whole video on the matter:
Guy knows his stuff so if you have time, watch it.
Except for the fact that Salisbury to all of Normandy is under 175 miles…Within the maximum range of 230 miles stated. Trust me I did my research too
I see that I am not talking to a noob, we are just discussing, please do correct me if I am wrong
But again, I think you are again talking about range without loadout or?
This loadout could, I least I think, be ok:
And for the FW190 F8:
Going off that 230 (which would still allocate sufficient fuel for combat time) it should still be fine since ordnance would be only carried one way and I doubt the plane would be burning twice the fuel unless fully equipped with its maximum payload, which I am definitely not going to advocate for in Enlisted.

Yeah, I agree.
Ether way, we agree F8 and P47 would be much better choice for that particular campaign. Guess we will see in the future if devs will listen to community more than their colleagues from WarThunder.

The P-47 can carry a centerline external fuel tank in addition to the wing hardpoints for bombs and rockets
Yeah, I am aware of it. But as far as I remember, they only strapped 1000 lb bombs to wings.
I am not sure about the HE filler in these, but those would be similar to 500 kg German bombs. And then you have it again, rant about US air force being to powerful, OP so on. Some sweet spot regarding balance has to be considered.

They could also mount 500 pounders on the wings which would be much better for balancing.

Oh, didn’t know that, or maybe my memory is fading. It was long time ago. Thanks for the correction!
Lol I only just found out too since I had to go and check.
But goes to figure since the mounting is the same that it could be done
Yeah, makes sense. Nothing else to do but to keep our fingers crossed!

There’s definitely an American P-51 with 20mm cannons, at least in War Thunder. I’ll say at the outset I’m not an expert in WWII aviation, though, so the fact that it exists in WT doesn’t mean it actually existed, I suppose.
???
The Allison P-51 with the Hispanos did exist. I never said it doesn/t
Germans in ww2 were going to use heavy water from Norway to produce a nuke but Norwegian resistance destroyed the factory.
