General Housekeeping

Here is a general list of items that shouldn’t be too difficult to incorporate and I believe should be handled sooner than later.

  1. Chat - Should have a chat box available on Home Screen. At the very least should have a chat box when you create/enter a group.

  2. After match chat - should have the ability to discuss the game for a minute with everybody after the match on the scoreboard screen.

  3. After match quick add. Should be able to right click and add players to friends list and/or to Group from the scoreboard screen after and/or during a match. If you do not already have a group, during a match you should be able to right click on a name and invite a player or players to your group. If they accept, should automatically create that group even during the game.

  4. This one may be a little more difficult but it would be really nice to have in game voice chat available. Even just a proximity voice chat (unless radio man equipped) or something along those lines might be nice. To start, a local voice chat or just team voice chat would be nice.

  5. Using multiple bronze orders at once. There should be a slider to use multiple bronze orders for weapons at once.

  6. Repeat tasks should allow slider. For instance, if you’re taking apart a gun for parts, I’d you have 200 of the rifles, it would be great to just slide bar select how many you’d like to tear down at once. I’d say this should be a game option for almost any type of selection, including silver troop orders and silver weapon orders (although the silver orders aren’t as daunting it would still be nice).

  7. Managing Soldiers: It could really use an update for ease of use. Perhaps a drop down for class of soldier or at the very least group have a small box (similar width the the reserve box currently), and have one type of soldier in that box. Across the screen, you can easily fit 3 boxes and perhaps show the soldiers with a scroll bar for 5 soldiers in descending order by highest rank first. So right now we have one massive scroll box that says reserve with no used space from the left third of the screen all the way to the right side. I’d say have 3-4 boxes wide (columns) and likely two rows that have each class of soldier. Similar to the silver soldier order, just keep it like that and let us scroll through the different soldier classes and on each class scroll through the available soldiers.

  8. Campaign - The Campaign screen can be much more immersive. Per page the current view maintain at the top of the screen smaller and then have a more interactive type screen.

Infantry → Infantry II → M1 Garand → Infantry III

Assault
Sniper
Armor
Planes

Follow that formula example I used above for the “Infantry” for each broad strokes class type allowing players to easily see what rank they get various weapons, which squads those weapons are applicable to exactly, and other “card” info screens. I think this would help a lot of new players and de clutter the current linear level 1-30+ screen that really doesn’t show players much useful info other than what they can expect next. Using my example, it makes it easier for players to visualize their progress. Besides that, it’s no fun to simply slide left and right on a single campaign slider. Why not use this area to provide useful information as well as entice players to see what they’ll eventually be working with in each class. They can get creative and use their imagination as it is by sliding back and forth but once again, why not keep it simple.

  1. Send friends messages. Should be able to send friends messages online. They it would make group coordination a lot easier for those of us that don’t know each other except for when we’ve played together. Often I get invites while I’m in a match and I can’t let them know it’ll be another 2 minutes, or I am going to be back in x amount of time to all meet on at that time.

That’s all I have for now but most of those suggestions are easy to implement and would improve the game. I know the team is working on exciting future stuff but I think some polish would be nice for the game right now. Especially since COD and BF have flopped so much there is a tremendous opportunity here for the player base to grow significantly and quickly.

I feel this won’t be abused in the slightest to insult bad players or complain about the other team?

Seeing as this is changing, I doubt this will happen

why is this a bad thing

I can tell from the various responses to the idea of text chat, that many of us desperately want to heap verbal abuse onto other people in this game, and for good reason.

I am inclined to agree that people will get competitive with the chat after, but often that’s part of the fun. On the flip side, there’s many times when I run into an equal and appreciate what they did and want to thank them. Maybe it’s old school honor or something but either way, I am pretty good at this game, I find it respectable when somebody can compete.

Look at any other online game that has a feature like this, it is NEVER used in this sense.
Almost always, it will be used for someone to insult their team, picking on one specific player, or to contact an enemy on the other team to harass them, calling them a Hacker or Sweaty or so on.

I know you suggest it with the best of intentions, but I’ve been round the block enough to know that this won’t end well.

Agreed on all counts.

Hard pass on 1-4 OP. Chatting with randoms only leads to worstened general toxicity, a problem that Enlisted can’t really afford due to its pretty small player base. This game is better for resisting urges to be like other shooters. I am honestly pretty disappointed that they may be adding a “stat” page.

As for all y’all who want it just to abuse other players who “deserve” it: get over yourselves. This is just a game and most folks are just trying to have a good time. Don’t make somebody else’s experience shittier just because you don’t like how they’re playing.

what do you mean? all chat is often used for toxicity, it’s fun to get a bit competitive now n then. If you can’t handle a little toxic back and forth you shouldn’t be on the internet. You can also always turn it off…

Or, the devs can leave the feature out and people who can’t handle being forced to keep their behavior to themselves can live with it or go play something else.

If somebody wants to be a wad, let them be a wad in private… Don’t burden the rest of us with their crappy attitude.

we can go back and forth with this argument all day.

if someone wants to be a snowflake they can stay away from the internet and be a snowflake in private. Dont burden the rest of us with your inability to man up and ignore the spicy letters. Again, the option to mute text chat is already in game so why shouldn’t people use it?

t. bad player

Lol, please. I just like when games are more casual and fun. Tryhards and people worried about stats ruin that atmosphere, and I’d have preferred that this game stay away from that.

Thanks for proving my point though. Toxic dicks don’t need any more ways to express themselves online. They can always come on the forums after all.

perhaps you’d be more at home playing minecraft or roblox, i hear roblox has some pretty good shooter modes. you can’t expect good players not to play the way they want, just to accommodate casuals who can’t match :man_shrugging:

there are toxic people in real life too. You going to demand that they can’t ‘express themselves’ there too? You’re going to encounter people who disagree with you a lot in life, and maybe they won’t be so polite about it. Best toughen up, get used to it and get over it.

Your first interaction with me was to insult me with incorrect information that doesnt apply to me.

Are you sure youre in any position to speak about toxicity?

For what it’s worth, I also said this. Alas, I am on the forums and I did indeed razz you for your goofy bragging. I do suppose that was toxic though, so fair point.

I do encounter toxic people on a daily basis due to the nature of my work. I don’t care much for dealing with them while trying to enjoy a good WW2 shooter too. As for demanding that they can’t express themselves though? This is the devs’ game, and they can set whatever conduct standards they’d like. This is no different than mandating how people are allowed to act in any other business. So, with that said, I’m hoping their standards remain high and they prevent this kind of behavior to the best of their abilities. Keeping all chat out of the game is a great way to mitigate that. There’s no need for the general player base to have to deal with our salty ramblings, and I’d prefer to keep it that way.

not sure why your here then.

Most games if not all has option to turn off chat entirely for those who likes to play in comfort of theyr safespace.

But then, what is the point of adding it if its going to be abused?
I just don’t see the point in it?

its fun. I and many others do not see that as abusing it

Still, better off not having a way someone can spam you with abusive messages because “They’re not the engineer and you failed to build respawns every second”.

My will to play this game is already low, I don’t need more reasons not to want to log on.
Its the reason i gave up playing other incredibly toxic games.

Then just mute the chat?
