In case you didn’t read, I said that Enlisted is a nice compromise of the different wwii games, which includes hardcore and arcade elements, in a way that I like. I’m sorta indifferent to the perk system, but I acknowledge it is an arcade shooter thing.
They could also expand the ranking system and give it rewards per faction, with more and better rewards per rank so it actually means something (and increase the marshall rank and the point difference per rank to a high number so it has a larger impact, too),along with a full single de-rank for ragequitting multiple games in a row on purpose would have the desired effect
I used to play on Lan events and tournaments on vanilla or rifle only matches either snd or ctf.
On regular basis I would either play vanilla cod2 or Admiral mod.
Admiral mod was kinda what enlisted offers right now. After 10-17 years.
Back in the day, like 2006-2007 there was a server based on UK with a web page of stats, it was amazing the number of info they displayed per soldier and that was years years ago.
According to xfire back then, I had around 10 k hours playing tournaments Lans or versus against other clans.
Shit was amazing back then. Sadly the new cods don’t have what I seek on a game.
I mostly played CB ladder on CoD2 on the side and some tourneys and some national LAN’s were attended. CoD2 was a “refreshment” for FPS-brain from all the BF1942’ing, same as Quake or CS1.6 (golden) ladder and such.
I’m afraid to count how many hours I have spent in FPS games in general, especially if I were to count it in hourly wage.
Yet somehow I don’t think shit was amazing back then, I think shit was awful back then. I imagine the longer you stare at the shit stains the shittier you feel, and in the top notch competitive scene…
Oh well. I had fun travelling around, and sure it felt amazing to have virtual golden trophies next to your name in CB or ESL medals, but nothing beats lifting a trophy in front of a crowd.
CoD4 was “nice” if you forgot about all the stupid stuff - like having certain FPS to trickjump a wall on some meta, or drilling through pixels, like the fucking nade-meta in the start, like the side-jump-leer-prone-AK-drill, like the sky-jump-scoping, the constant fucking drama.
BF2 was “nice” if you forgot about the constant patch-changes amidst “small” tournaments like the TWC, introducing dolphin-diving, frisbee c4, moonjumping, crouchspam-dusting,
oh my god I’m getting angry again.
My time is over. It is time for me to sail to the grey havens, and diminish into an angry old man, and lose my shit when someone calls ENLISTED A HARDCORE FPS GAME
what hardcore elements are there?
I already explained that in this thread. Magazine management, forced fps view and somewhat realistic controls for planes and tanks along with the damage model, and things such as that. Cod and Battlefiield have health bars for their vehicles, and no damage model. Somewhat realistic weapon performance vs just completely random whatever in games such as cod and BF is also a big difference for me.
Is it super realistic and hardcore? No.
Is it a fun compromise of different wwii games which includes some realistic/hardcore elements along with arcadey elements, done in a way that I personally enjoy?
yes.
there is literally only 2 things “hardcore” in this game, magazine management and damage models.
ALL the rest is arcade
movement, shooting, art calls, nerf and buffs based on efficency of a weapon, random nerf to ammo capacity, not being able to take the shell you want bc of balance reasons, perk that literally make you survive a bullet in the chest from a BA, super sprint soldiers, ranodm AAA and AT guns that pop out of nowhere ecc ecc
if you want to tell your self that this game is not arcade and you are playing something even slightly simil realistic go for it, but rember that you’re lying to youself and this game is more arcade than COD.
I think we just have a different definition of what hardcore is.
Of course we’re not going to be hammering down rivets into concrete blocks for a while so we can set up an aa gun like in real life. I don’t see anyone calling HLL an arcadey game because you can sprint and build a trench or whatever in an unrealistic time, in unrealistic places. Don’t forget the teleportation rally points, too
Same for RO2, you could survive a bullet to the chest and then just bandage yourself. I guess RO2 must be an arcade game.
It’s time to stop being contrarian.
High rank PC players will quit if the team has too many console players or noobs that do not build RPs.
I am a high rank pc player and I don’t quit. Give the console players a chance, and you’ll see that they can perform better than you think. You’ll never find out if you just quit early. As far as noobs who refuse to build rallies, this problem happens regardless of rank.
I’ve seen many people who have engineers and build aa guns and do nothing the whole game, even after asking them to build a rally point and move up so we can win.
Ranking. System. Matchmaking. Now. Please!
super realitics and absolutely not arcade
idk i didint play ro2 but yes that is an arcade mechanic
i guess the difference from ro2 and enlisted is that ro2 isnt full of them
Cherry picking isn’t going to change my mind. You can think whatever you want, I could care less. But I think Enlisted is a nice compromise of all the WWII games we’ve had in the past 25 years
you can think what you want idc, but dont tell that this game is realistic
“cherry picking” literally picking 2 of the 3 fundamental things in this game
movement and building
Nobody said that this game is realistic, or should be. It has realistic elements which are better portrayed here than in other games, and also includes arcadey stuff.
Enjoy this last reply because it is obvious you are either refusing to read what I said or are leaving things out on purpose to troll.
from my experience 1/20 console players are actually good. half of them are in the range of bots, rest are somewhere in between.
I share this point of view.
Game is a nice mix between arcade and realism.
And i like it because of it.
How players engage on the game, is a diferent story.
This might be a decent idea.
Heroes and Generals has a system that puts different weapons into certain categories. Bronze, silver, and gold.
Bolt actions are bronze, and then I think the tier 2 smg and onwards is silver, and then late tier weapons are gold. That way, starting people only play with other players who only have bronze items equipped.
Enlisted could do something similar. If you only have level 1-10 weapons equipped, you get into other matches with players who only have those weapons, too. Then it can go to 1-20~, 1-40, or something like that.
I only hope that these suggestions and or a matchmaker don’t further divide players and create crazy wait times, however.
not hardcore types of things
but ill humor you
so this game has 5 arcade features
and 3 hardcore features
with two main features bring arcade
kill cam
movement
again arcade game
just because it has one hardcore feature (the vehicle health system) does not make it a hardcore game
or maybe you subconsciously enjoy the game because of its constant action
all other games you die and you have to wait 5-10 seconds to respawn
this game nope just swap to your other squad member, and once you go though all of them its only a 10 secound wait to get 5-9 lives
