I encountered a player with a flame thrower, he sot me with it and it was instant death. this is literally unfair… There should be a thing where ur character can burn to death… instant death is un realistic… pls fix this
One thing I can say about flamethrowers is that they are definetly not OP. If you died instantly it is most likely that you got load of burning fuel straight into your face. For most of the time flamethrowers are area control weapons and it takes some time for the enemies to burn - you can even try to extinguish the flames and survive.
Flamethrowers also lack range which makes them very situational. In game max range is ±10m, whereas irl it could reach 30-40 meters. That is very sad and should be changed.
Instant death with flamethrowers is pretty realistic, especially for the american flamethrower, which basically yeets napalm.
Even though the soldier isn’t “dead” instantly, I do not think you would fire your gun, or do anything else for that matter, after getting doused in napalm.
From my experience flamethrowing and fighting them, they get maybe a handful of kills before an AI yeets a round through the blinding flame into his dome.
A flamethrower is shooting burning jelly at you. It MELTS your flesh on contact. As for the weapon ingame it is most certainly not OP
considering that they are the slowest class ( after the AT ) i think it’s more than fair.
so yeah, slow but deadly.
Not even the latter
they just slow
i mean, it is situational, but i usually compare velocity of each classes with ideal loadout.
such as, such as secondary x2 medkits and the flamethrower.
the more people add, the more the guy will be slower.
I feel like they are under powered, very close range and a lot of times don’t even get to the battlefield because of MGs and snipers…
that is truee…
but at least they are better than b4. bots seems to recognize the fire as a smoke, so they don’t shoot you when they are burning unless it’s rare cases.
although, keep that trigger firing until they are done.
might don’t wanna risk to check.
Actually, does anybody know how physics of stream of fuel behave? Does it go through things like small windows or it’s stopped by them?
I can’t properly test it so I will be grateful for info.
In one update devs stated that fuel stream should go through windows without problems. I can test that for you later to be sure
Flamethrower is honestly really underwhelming.
I’ve had multiple people just walk through the fire to just slap me in the face.
I get sniped through the blinding fire by AI and players all the time as well right after opening up.
A weapon that causes instant death is OP?
Looks at bolt action rifles, artillery and mortars, tank guns, machine guns - you guys hear that??
No, flamethrower is nowhere near OP as you can still shoot while you are on fire (AI literally shoots you in the face if you set them on fire by burning fuel… how is that realistic?).
Flamethrower is utility weapon that mainly serves on creating area of denial.
If anything, flamethrower needs to be buffed (targets that are set on fire should not be able to shoot while dying in pain with burning fuel in their damn face).
Ok, I did some testing and here are the reslts:
Flames can obviously go though normal windows.
Smaller windows like that also are no problem:
Even smaller windows can be problematic, but if you stick your barrel into them the flames will go through.
2nd window type was my main concern.
It seems that 1st window has glas, did you break it, flame did ti or it just went through?
I stole a flamethrower, set one guy on fire, set myself on fire, and died.
Flames just ignore the glass
Is that actually first thread about flamethrower being op since last years?
