Finnish Tech Tree

Here is my attempt at a tech tree for Finland. When doing research on Finnish weaponry, I learned that Sweden donated approximately 135,000 guns (1/3 of their entire arsenal) to Finland during the Winter War. They also sent approximately 8,700 volunteers to aid the Finns. I saw this as an opportunity to include several Swedish guns in the Finnish tech tree, as Finland received so much aid from Sweden. I think this helps the weapon variety significantly and gives Finland a very unique feel with old Swedish and Finnish weapons that are very rarely seen in any form of media.

This tech tree is designed to be applicable to both the Winter War and Continuation War. This makes Finland eligible for two potential future campaigns instead of one. Theoretically in the future matchmaking system, a high-level Finland player would be more likely to play on continuation war maps and vice versa.

I also included vertical progression for the SMG weapons, so that players aren’t forced to grind the same gun twice in a row, but can if they want a bigger magazine.

ah another tech tree,nice.
maybe give em some light captured vehicle perhaps? like t26 or bt but still very nice

So?
no DP27 for fininish?

I tried to avoid using captured weapons as much as possible so I could focus on unique weapons. I am sure if Finland was implemented, their tree could be bolstered by more captured soviet tanks and the DP-27.

I made this yesterday using your template and it seems you were able to find a lot more Finnish gear than I was lol

Nice! Our trees are still extremely similar, I just dug up some more obscure Finnish weapons and I used some Swedish guns to fill out the tree a bit more.

what about horses with horns?

There are a lot of nations that had some form of bicycle infantry. Italy, Germany, Poland, Denmark, Japan, Finland, and USA to name a few. If they added bicycle squads to the game I think they should be premium squads for many nations including Finland.

Skis would be a very fun mechanic! But since the devs can’t get bipods to work I think they have some other mechanical priorities to focus on.

so true, was just googling, and nearly everyone had one, lol, this film, was based on the Germans invading, but i found another film, called Ambush in English and its about Finland crossing Russia border, that’s not the one i was thinking of.

Seems the one i was thinking of is Danish, called April 9th 2015 movie, blew me away when i watched this, a while ago, 40 bullets and a bike vs armoured Germans.

we now just need Kimi Räikkönen to do the voicelines for the main soldier used in finnish squads

All the Finnish voice lines should just be “Perkele!” said in various tones

at that point, lets port over the swear quotes from the finnish game called ‘‘my summer car’’

cool. Anyway, I really like their gun cuz looking good.

As far as I know, LS-26 and Suomi SJR are already in the game.

I’m not sure what the difference is between the Suomi SJR version and the regular Suomi, but the developers have classified them separately. Maybe it’s a difference in rate of fire?

Thing is, DP-27 was theyr main MG in WW2, after theyr captured then in enough numbers they even replaced theyr own MGs in favor of DP.

Also no T-26E? That one is unique Finish version that should for sure be there.

Nice TT overall!

The Finns did use a lot of captured soviet tanks like T-26Es and BT-7s, I just didn’t want mirror matches if low-level Finland players are playing low-level Soviet players. I think it would be better to give Finland this captured equipment through events or some other means.

Oh i dont mean Russian T-26E, but Finnish one, that is mix of Vickers 6-tons they had with guns from T-26, it is unique Finnish vehicle.
It is also only tank with Hull SMG gun iirc, it has special Suomi SMG build specially for this tank.
