FG42 is now nerfed into the ground

Now FG42 only has 20/20 rounds in total, like FG42/II.

Good changes imo. M2 Carbine is shit and function as a Light Machinegun with High Recoil, i think its fine

How about big ammo bags?

only 40 bullets?!!! what the hell

refund of silver orders or what? I think now is better the gehwer 43 since we will run out of ammo quickly we will have to use them as a semiautomatic rifle, totally ruined the weapon

Good, it’s like the AVS-36 in that regard as it should be.
Just take a large ammo pouch from now on for all your FG-42s

lmao

Shame it isnt locked to assaulters only. I guess thats a good enough nerf.

Good now I have to chose if I take the fg or something else. Picking for each squad what is best.

Fg-42 is still better than the Gewehr in ammo capacity, so it’s still top tier, but less clear cut, it’s not blatantly overpowered anymore.

What makes this thing funnier is how devs do these “rebalance” stuffs.
When planes are able to be sot down from the ground, they rebalance the hp so planes literally cannot be shot down from the ground and flaks are now just machine gun nest with shield. Planes get in poop a 250kg clear a point and leave.
When people are moaning for op arty instead of adjusting the map to have more covers or more interesting mechanics such as arty shell limits are others they simply double the cooldown time.
When FG42 massacring murican they simply nerf the ammo to 20/20, for a half-machine-gun-half-SMG.

What really make things worse is the way how dev “rebalance” things, either nerf to the ground or buff to the top.

you don’t play germans so I dont know why you’d even bother voicing your opinion. You’ve made your extreme bias very clear.

I mean, the ammo capacity nerf only brought the FG42 closer to being in line with the rest of infantry weapons in kill potential with stock ammo;
M2 at 45 kill capacity
FG42 at 40 kill capacity
M1 Carbine at 37 kill capacity
Garand at 32 kill capacity
Gewehr at 30 kill capacity
Lee-Enfield at 30 kill capacity
All other bolt actions sitting around a 25 kill capacity with stock ammo?

The M2 carbine and FG42 still come out ahead on kill possibility capacity with stock ammo compared to all other rifles, and with the complaints of the FG42 being the objectively better weapon than the m2, as it’s contemporary in the campaign tree, while not an ideal solution, was still rather needed regardless when you compare it to the rest of the weapons available to troopers and the like.

I guess both M2 and Fg42 wouldn’t stay end-game rifle since there would be 40+ expected levels

I mean, preferably there wouldn’t be any truly “end game” rifle and all weapons would be generally side grades of each other to some degree, or at least remain viable, but… yeah.

Now I’m pretty sure that FG42 wouldn’t be end-game rifle after I seeing AVS36 in Berlin. There must be another to counter AVT40 and Johnson LMG.

We’re getting an average of 40 campaign levels across the board, according to the devs, so we’re probably seeing the MP43/STG44 in Normandy and Berlin on the Axis side as a higher level weapon. That said, my personal hope would be something like this; Suggestion for Normandy Campaign restructure and rebalance

But I suppose we’ll find out whenever the next round of updates comes along.

It seems that in the Stg family(in the folder) there are two kinds of weapons: one is MKB42(H) MKB42(W) and MKB42(H) with scope, both have an extremely low recoil(20-24), and MP43/1 and STG44. both have a relatively high vertical recoil(32), maybe the former would be given to assaulters or snipers and the latter would be given to infantries. This is only my conjecture.
FG42 III is also possible, but maybe too OP to give to infantries due to its controllability. It’s not to find in the folder at moment, not sure wether it would be added later.
