I wonder how many of these posts will have to be made before the developers actually do anything about the FG42…
Anyway. Just put in an Automatic Rifleman class that can use the select fire weapons and limit it like every other class.

Quick fix right there, but a real proper new class would have to be put in from the ground up and NOT a new level at the end of the tree for everyone

I see it totally unnecessary, in the first one it does not have so much ammunition and in the second that type of weapon has its counteroffensive on the other side either AVS or m2 apart from the fact that in this game you die of a bullet regardless of the weapon for the same a Springfield or a mosin carbine they kill you before you fire your gun on auto, they complain too much.
Neither the AVS or M2 compare to the versatility of the FGs
One is an SVT with a CQC option to hose for a half second and the other has near unusable visual recoil on an SMG having more recoil than both of the FG-42 and the 42 II combined

Bring a large ammo pouch like you already would be doing with literally any other automatic or semi-auto.
There’s such a large power gap between whats placed as a “”"“competitor”""" on the allied side and the FG its really not a comparison. Give it recoil matching the AVS-36 and then we’ll talk about comparing it, because as it stands using my FGs as just like playing CoD vs bots tbh.
Well, just say that they put more recoil in automatic mode without the need to put it in a squad as its exclusive weapon

People would just spam fire semi if it only had more recoil on full auto
and we should restrict automatic rifles anyways since it wasn’t a common sight for a soldier to have an automatic, especially the automatic rifles we have to troopers, each of them making less than .1% as a pure guess of weapons a soldier would have likely seen

As you want, I already gave my opinion and then only if it would be good if the recoil would be increased in both firing modes but I do not see the need to exclude a single squad if they want that they should also exclude the other automatic weapons

Well, if you want to talk about the most used weapons for each side, then go to Normandy and equip your soldiers from the allied side with pure M1 Garand and m1 carbine and those of the axis equip them with pure kar98, I suppose that now it would be better balanced
yeah totally fair, but IMO I’d just unlock it with the FG42/AVS/Whatever, or just a class that exists from the very beginning

Paratroopers must will have automatic weapons.
Just common fighter with same gun not will popular or interesting class.

However this game is less about 1v1 gun fights and more about killing the most infantry possible to stop them from taking the objective. It’s like arguing that both a tank and a soldier with a demo pack can kill tanks, they aren’t the same.
other thing they could do is something like an Elite Trooper, or Elite Gunner class that costs more tickets if they die, but gets better weapons like the FG 42.
Or they add something like a “squad leader” so that only one soldier can have these elite weapons.
There are a lot of things the devs could do, but the easiest fix would literally be moving the FG to gunners and the AVS to assault.
Why do you want AVS-36 to be limited to gunners? I get why some people mistake the FG 42 for an LMG even though it isn’t one, or at least not fully - it has a bipod. I also get (and this time also agree) why people want the M2 Carbine for assaulters only - it’s an assault rifle, like the StG 44. But why giving a battle rifle to gunners?
