When shot at the medium range it is better and fast than Gewehr 43, at close range, it is more efficient than SMG (because of its high damage), lying down it can be used like an LMG. What else is a SMG good for? Please give us MP 43.

I havent used but I’m guessing you can equip every soldier who has a rifle with it so doesnt it make essentially every other weapon pointless? Seems there’s a bigger problem than SMGs if that’s the case
Do note FG42 comes with significant recoil and only 2 magazines of ammo. The SMGs are still better than it at actual close quarters combat.
Meanwhile, USA gets an actual SMG for rifleman with the M2 carbine
I mean they should give us MP43 back. We defintely need better SMG(even though Mp43 is not). What’s the point of SMG if rifle is better than it?
No only FG 42 II has two magazines, becuase it’s for sniper. FG 42 has 5.
They should add the Thompson for the Americans and MP/STG 44 for the germans. Everyone having an FG42 or an M2 which is essentially an SMG is stupid. Seems they should reclassify them both
M2 should be removed, actually. Was never used in Normandy.
Add the large ammo pouch which is double the ammo so 5 mags becomes 10 and everyone gets one.
I agree but the M1/M2 was issued and used which is just a converted M1 to auto. But the problem is how do you match the FG42 and StG44? The Americans simply didnt have anything that was a true assault rifle.
Thompson drum existed in terms of full auto firepower. Can’t exactly say the M2 and FG42 are the same thing either can we.
And Germany doesn’t get a shotgun so maybe a tradeoff there?
The fact EVERY german gets an assualt rifle and a few assaulters only get very niche shotguns is not a very fair trade. And the drum Thompson was no longer in service by 1944 in Europe
That’s not what I am saying - giving the MP43 to anyone other than assaulters would be dumb anyways.
One side gets more SMGs and shotguns, other side more MGs / MP43

Agreed on all. The shotgun trade for the StG to assaulters only is fair. Giving every class a full auto M2 or FG42 is broken
The main problem is that devs allowed this weapon to be equiped by EVERYONE
Now what @44854715 said, I don’t think this weapon is OP, it’s basicaly a more stable DP-27 with less ammo.
I haven’t used the M2 carbine but the M1 Carbine is garbage

You can always fire it in semi only making it a 20 round semi auto firing full powered rounds that has up to 200 rounds of ammo AND full auto capability in buildings. How is that fair? The fact you compared it to an LMG for everyone says enough.

Let me sum up my thoughts on this topic:
- Replace M1918A2 BAR with M1919 MG in campaign unlock so it matches MG42
- Make M1918A2 BAR and FG42 part of new gunner squad unlock, the latter having a paratrooper uniform theme.
- Rename M2 Carbine to M1/M2 Carbine and move it to assaulter slot
- Add MP43 to match the M1/M2 Carbine in assaulter slot
