FG-42 - The initial amount of ammunition has been increased to the average ammunition for semi-automatic rifles.
Seriously? On of the most liked weapon got nerfed by ammo? 20/20 ammo is ridiculous imo.
If they wanted to nerf, that they should nerf the fire-rate or Damage…but no…make an elite weapon a simple avarage one, nice job.
I think not a singe soldier want to carry that low amount of ammo at all. What do you guys think? Im a bit tired of these things… I hope at least they give is 20/60 ammo. Would be fine. With a backpack and 4 medkit, I dont want to change to ammo pack.
This nerf made the soldiers survivalibility/endurance low if someone wanna carry FG-42 with backpack. Less shot with more healt, less healt/endurance with more ammo…wow

Okay, so tell me pls one simple thing, FG and G43 have the same amount of ammo,
yet less players complain about the g43 having not enough ammo, compared to the FG nerfs, which one is the better gun hu?
The thing is, if you use your ammo pouches the FG will still be the same blast to play with, so in the end nothing really changed anyways.
Yes I know…and i write down as well…but FG-42 is not a semi-auto carbine or something. Its an Auto rifle with a semi-/and auto fire mode. Theres no context with Gewehr to make them a same amount of rifle…I think Devs made a big mistake with that choice…
Because with 20/20 ammo the FG42 still has more killing potential than any other trooper / general infantry weapon other than the M2 carbine.
Kill capacity / maximum number of kills from base carried ammo;
(pre-nerf) FG42 at 100 kill capacity
M2 at 45 kill capacity
(post-nerf) FG42 at 40 kill capacity
M1 Carbine at 37 kill capacity
Garand at 32 kill capacity
Gewehr at 30 kill capacity
Lee-Enfield at 30 kill capacity
All other bolt actions at 25 kill capacity
You don’t need more magazines. The FG42 is already the best handling general infantry weapon in Normandy. Use it in semi-auto except for emergencies and you’ll be fine. Maybe main the Engineer squad and put down ammo crates as necessary if you must.
Than reduce the damage or rate of fire…or both of them…but Who the f*ck want to run always for ammo in every 30-40 sec…morover,the 60-70% of players dont build ammo-box at all (I suppose they don’t care for others…) - Without ammo pack that weapon is note comes handy any more that much before nerf…shame, but I hope the Dear devs figure out some solution
I haven’t got it yet, but from what you wrote, the m2 carbine got 45 rounds total? If so, I don’t see what the fuss is about 40 for the fg… it does look fair
You can always keep an Engineer in your squad and build ammo crates for yourself. Also, you can change the FG42 to semi-auto mode with the fire mode selector button (H button on PC), so you shouldn’t burn through ammo any faster than you would with the Gewehr or Garand unless you’re spraying for some reason.
M2 carbine has 90 rounds total, but even at close range it requires 2 shots to kill. So 90 divided by 2 = 45. Whereas the FG42, like the Garand and Gewehr, will 1-shot at close range.
