Those Italian SPGs were actually very famous among the German troops for being amazing, I heard somewhere that those are the reason why STUGs with long 75mm gun came into existence.
About the Fury. Just to remind. Main character played by Brad Pitt and the tank Fury (Sherman e8) was fictional, but his nickname War Daddy was real and used by this hero Lafayette Green Pool
Would be nice to have him as gold order soldier or whatever they will call it soon. Since his tank (or almost similar, not sure about the number, and he got 3 tanks total) Sherman M4A1 76 W “In the mood” is already in game as a gold order.

I don’t believe this, sounds like BS.
Let me find some information on this - its a quite interesting story.
okay, I have to admit, I have no idea where I read this information, but here some facts:
Semovente was made as a respond of short barreled STUG - used in Africa with great success before STUG III F was introduced AND with great success because its heat round could and did take out Matilda, M3 and even Sherman tanks before any German vehicles were able to do so.
Germany relied on 88 flak to take out heavy armor in Africa - which is why the Tiger program came into existence, so for a short period of time the Semovente was the only axis vehicle able to take out allied tanks.
oh man, just learned that the later Sevomente M43 with its 105mm gun wasnt just a prototype - but also around 100 were actually used in the battle of Italy, even after Italy pretty much switched sides Germany kept using them.
Maybe thats where my half baked story came from.
yes
it has rockets too.
Wait how do you confuse the M36 and the Achilles?
Sounds good on all fronts, except maybe the small arms race that comes from adding the SU-152. Other than that though I’m game
Both are m10 with better cannons. Easy to confuse
Yes. Iconic WW2 stuff please instead of obscure prototype BS
Guess I’m just autistic enough to notice the differences. Lol. The Achilles is the same turret with a modified mantlet. The M36 GMC has an entirely different turret. But yes, both are M10 GMC hulls
well you are an American enthusiast (not a surprise since you are American afterall) so it make sense
To be completely honest yes and no. 90% of the more, shall we say, “outlandish” or extremist bull I say is because it’s funny. Genuinely if someone asks me round here why I am the way I am or why I say the things I say my response is “because it’s funny”
I think @GeneralBrus asked me that once and upon hearing that response he said something to the effect of “fair enough” (could’ve been someone else I’m not entirely sure)
I’m just here to crack some jokes and hopefully make some people laugh. That being said, yes overwhelming majority of my knowledge is US based. Our firearms, calibers, vehicles, history, etc. It’s just what I’m more interested in. Granted I have looked into and am trying to look into other countries’ small arms development because I am genuinely interested in guns in general. I would also like to see how each country developed its tank cannons and where they came from. Be it the US basing our 75 off of the M1897 french field cannon, the UK mounting their towed QF anti tank gun, Germany modifying their 88mm anti aircraft artillery cannon, Italy putting their machine gun in whatever abominations they made, etc. So I do have interests outside just the US, but yeah I mainly know things about the US. I am a proud American after all. Our development in the interwar, how the M3 Medium made evolutions from the M2 Medium and how those lead into the M4 Medium. Oh! And I probably have the best grasp of the US designation system of anyone here considering how much I’ve studied it. Lol. It’s a whole lot simpler than people think, and context is everything. Yeah, there’s 50,000 “M3’s,” but there’s only 1 M3 Medium Tank, there’s only 1 M3 Light Tank, there’s only 1 M3 Helmet. Etc, etc, etc. Essentially, every single category of something has its own list. I have my theories on the M1 Abrams and why it suddenly reset for it after the M60, but that’s for another time. Also, this designation system was born in the mid-late interwar period. Most notably the transition from the year designation that most nations still used at the time to sequential designation we see today being the M1903 Springfield to the M1 Garand. Even in the trials leading to the adoption of the M1, we see the new designation system in place with the T1E3, T3E2, and T1E1 rifles being tested by the board. The T1E3 being Pedersen’s offering in the Pedersen Rifle and the T3E2 being Garand’s rifle chambered in .276. The T1E1 being Garand’s rifle rechambered for 30-06. Obviously it’s confusing going from 1 to 3 to back to 1, not to mention the E numbers but we’re not worrying bout those right now as they’re practically inconsequential. So why? Well, the T1E3 and the T3E2 are both .276 rifles, while the new T1E1 is the T3E2 chambered in 30-06, making it a whole different rifle to be looked at and tested separate from the .276 rifles. Much like how light, medium, and heavy tanks eventually got different tracks of designations and how our self propelled’s have a different designation track than our tanks. “Track” referring to 1, 2, 3, etc. So a better way of saying it is the T1E3 .267 rifle, T3E2 .276 rifle, and the T1E1 30-06 rifle. Context!
There are things I’m serious about, like my beloved M3 Halftrack that serious is my favorite armored vehicle of all time, as well as my desire for more HMC’s and SPH’s in the game. My stance on BR’s is also genuine. I hate them, but I can tolerate the way they’re set up now and I still have fun playing the game. I don’t think I would have nearly as much fun if the BR’s were all extremely strict as I would get bored fighting the exact same thing over and over again every match ad infinitum. At least now there’s still that chaos and randomness as the Pre Merge Enlisted I fell in love with, if significantly diluted. Still though, it’s there and it’s BR III. I just wish everyone would leave it alone and play BR II or literally any other BR where they have exactly what they ask for and let me enjoy III
being a military nerd is simply a passion that mortals will never comprehend
True that. Lol. I honestly feel like being a history nerd and being a gun nerd go hand in hand. I mean seriously, how can you look at everything so many people and governments have done to others and not want to arm yourself?
yea im not reading that my ADHD said no
Aw. Big sad. I put a lot of effort into that…
i did read the br3 part tho
But I explained how the US designation system works! Lol
