Female Soldiers

you laughing hard at all the hate filed shit on here speaks heaps about you.

Completely and utterly false. Yes, there were women (including one of the greatest snipers ever). Yes, the Red Tails existed. Yes, The Navajo were of incredible use in the pacific. BUT most of the fighters were male. Not to mention that the group “Antifa” is BY DEFINITION FASCIST. It actually makes my brain hurt that people like you believe that people who defend free speech and the 2nd amendment are fascist. Then again, you probably get all of your news from CNN. The Russian that raised the U.S.S.R flag over Berlin was not a black lady that identified as a fucking guy with tits and uses zhe/ze pronouns.

1940s was also a way different time than now. Now days, people that burn down buildings and hold 6 blocks of a major city hostage are considered heroes. Now days, America has a president that needs a teleprompter to speak a sentence and gets yelled at by the French president. Now days, people think and say based off of emotion and not logic.

Antifa is quite possibly the worst “organization” ever made (They’re actually a terrorist group). They illegally hand out ar-15s to minors then when people get shot, they won’t allow the police in to clear the seen for paramedics.

Let’s be real here. The myth of antifa members stopping the Nazis need to end. A band of soldiers that sacrificed their lives and watched their brothers die stopped the nazis. Not 36 year old redditors that live in their parents basements.

Our Queen was a truck mechanic, medic and has training in multiple firearms. I want the Queen of England to be the next gold order specialist you can get for normandy. And I want her with a tiny tiara.

One more on par with the game time:

That’s sad, and I don’t say that derogatorily or judgementally. It’s sad, but perhaps even more sad is I don’t think it’s uncommon. I’m grateful that I’m generally not an angry person, even when drunk I tend to try and keep things from escalating and thus far all attempts to start a fight with me at a bar or at a house party have been unsuccessful. I stand, I will not throw the first punch, but I am ready to reciprocate if I am swung at. Can’t say that I know if I’d come out on top in the end, but I don’t care, I will not kowtow to someone puffing their chest out and being aggressive when there’s no need to be. I hope you get your anger under control and manage to forgive any who’ve wronged you, and I hope you receive forgiveness from any whom you have wronged.

Forgiveness is damn difficult, and I’m a bit hypocritical because there’s people in my life that I do believe I can forgive until I see their headstone and know they are gone forever. Still, forgiveness is righteous and powerful, and it helps not only those who receive it but it also helps those who give it because if you hold a grudge, that weighs you down. Hah, yeah, I do have anger for at least one individual, maybe two, possibly 5 people. People whom, if I met them face-to-face again, I might just swing at 'em, which is why the last time I saw one of them I immediately turned around and left without a word spoken. So I do have some anger in me too, but I expell the people in my life who give me that anger. Maybe they have regret, maybe it hurts them to not have me in their life, I dunno, I don’t really care, but we are on in each other’s lives and it is better this way than how it was.

Life can be pretty damn difficult, a bit of a pre-game tutorial would have been nice.

Legit, this is what you see? You see hate? I don’t, I see guys having fun and having laughs, basically making fun of how outlandish the left-wing identity politics ideologues are. If you view that as hate, maybe you just dislike criticism. If you regard criticism as hatred, well, if that is the case (I’m not saying it is), that sounds rather juvenile and immature.

what are you talking about?

I want Beate Uhse in a Stuka Ju87

sorry, Google translate from Wikipedia
"From April 1944 it was used frequently for transfer flights, mostly by Junkers Ju 87s, which came from the Weser production facility in Tempelhof and had to be brought to the air parks. In the Luftwaffe she flew the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Focke-Wulf Fw 190 as well as the Ju 87 and Messerschmitt Bf 110.

During the transfer flights for the German Air Force, Uhse also experienced attacks with fire by Allied fighters, which she was always able to escape thanks to her flying skills.

From October 1, 1944, she was taken over with the rank of captain of the Luftwaffe by the transfer wing 1, group center, based in Staaken.

Shortly before the end of the war in April 1945, she received instruction on the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter."

See? You are a pretty good good guy. People will get the wrong impression of you if you let that anger get away from you. You can be a positive force around here. We need more good people in our community.

so, with your line of thinking, if we dont want soldiers fighting with clowns customs in a WW2 game is because we hate clowns?

Any minority that colaborated fighting in the front should be represented in the correct percentage and no more than that, because the merits should be earned and not politicaly stolen like those dump colectives pretend in many .

And i dont want females only in premium, im f2p and i like some female in my squads with bronce orders, more % in snipers, less in engineers (soviets females also operates AA bateries), and in any other that they was irl.

Making them premium is the only way that is possible right now to keep their numbers somewhat accurate.

If female soldiers would be present in random bronze drops what would stop people from creating full squads composed of them? It would just be risk that too many female soldiers would show up on the battlefield.

The other option, that I always considered the best of them, are Twitch drops. One female elite sniper given during that even would be good both for honoring their participation in WW2 and historical realism. But from Keofox’s answer it looks like devs are rather going with premium squads.

Well, I hope they implement the female soldiers in a realistic fashion. My research had revealed that females were involves in the Eastern Front at far greater numbers than I had known so a minimum of 1 female soldier to be made available sounds acceptable to me, and even a female sniper squad seems reasonable. However, and this often comes up when identity politics gets involved because of the concept of ‘equal representation,’ something like 10% of the US Military in WWII was Black, yet they only have one Black fighter pilot from what I can tell. So if the USSR whom had 5% female involvement got ONE female soldier, that would render Blacks in America under-represented, meaning at least one extra Black soldier should be made available if not a whole squad. If the females in the USSR get an all-female squad, technically the Blacks with the US should at minimum get an all-Black squad, or at least some Black characters to unlock, and multiple at that since for every one USSR female there should technically be two Black US soldiers… yeesh, brings a certain meme to mind.

Anyhow, I’ve really tried here, but like so much that identity politics touches, there’s often no right answer. I believe not only bringing up the topic of female soldiers, but also the apparent inarguable fact that they WILL be involved, WITHOUT any context provided in terms of historical realism (to give us reasons why it makes sense, and there ARE reasons why it makes sense, 800,000 is no small number nor is 5% (1 in 20) a small proportion), was ultimately a bad choice.

I’ve lost any and all interest in putting another dime towards this game, and have gone 2 or more days without playing it. The addiction to the grind is gone, I’ve bought two games on special on Steam that came at a great price and I’m basically guaranteed to enjoy, and minutes ago I uninstalled Enlisted. Take care, enjoy this thread I had made, I hope Enlisted continues to develop in a positive direction with wrinkles regularly ironed where they appear and fun additions implemented. I also hope they don’t further fuck the realism/immersion of the game by botching this effort to give the female soldiers of the Red Army of WWII some representation in the game, which after my research, I unironically believe to be a noble notion however I do believe that if gamers are to accept it in large numbers, it should be REALLY given lots of detail and historical facts to back up the concept, and maybe leave it up for a debate for a while, instead of very briefly mentioning “Oh yeah and we’re gonna add women.” Like, what?.. I fancy myself something of a history buff but I thought women involvement in the Red Army of WWII was less than 1%, as I had made clear above and then quickly corrected myself as my research brought facts to light.

So take care, wish you well, game on my gamer brothers (and any gamer sisters whom may be present though they make up a far smaller percentage of the gaming community), and cut it out with the silly kamikazi-diving you Tenno-Haika bastards the Japanese aren’t in the game! Learn to fly or stay outta the cockpit! lol

How about we stop pandering to stupidity and focus on the concept of the “Campaign”, which is what is modeled in the Game as opposed to what could be included because it might have been somewhere in “the 2nd World War”.

This stupidity is already being exploited by some Dev in the “Normandy Campaign” to introduce the Jumbo and M24, which were not part of that “Campaign” but infact appeared in the “Theatre” almost 5 months later.

Same same for the Moscow campaign. The soviets still had enough “regular” squads at the time to feed into the meat grinder that was Barbarossa, and its only after the heinous losses of this campaign that they started recruiting who ever was fit to fight, and even then the majority of the female “combatants” were initially utilised situationally rather than doctrinally - ie it was better to arm ppl and let them fight for their life knowing what awaited them irrespective of their actions once the Nazis got their hands on them.

Berlin is a free for all, because it was an all round nightmare, but by this stage the use of female combatants in Soviet armies was being phased out because there was no need for it.

Reinventing history even for the sake of a game is bad form.

This thread has had a very long discussion, and was about to die without the bump.

It’s been all over the place, with some useful discussion but lots of segues into politics and gender discussion in general.

I’m sure we’ll return to this topic in future, but this thread has passed its peak.
