Explosive packs are too good in comparison to grenades

Explosive packs in comparison to the grenades have a few disadvantages (like ~1/3 less throwing range) but provide HUGE advantage of being one of the best AT weapons. So it hardly makes sense not to take them.
In my opinion they should have much more disadvantages as an anti-personel weapon.

My proposition is to change them to satchel charges. They would weight about 4kg (so ~3 times more than EP) and would have even shorter throwing range (1/2 of the grenade range).
Additionally it would take time to prepare them, for example 1-2s long animation of setting the detonator. For exchange they would have big explosion range (x1,2 of the grenade). Thanks to this, using them against infantry would be high risk high reward.
I was also thinking about similar delay for grenades (especially german ones) but the game is already too CoD-like to add sluggish animations for them.

Normal grenades does need a buff imo. its too weak in comparison to Explosive Pack and doesnt seem much difference between the 2

I would rather nerf EPs than buff grenades and add another layer of HE spam.

That’s a buff for armored vehicles so i am 100% against it… Just buff grenades if you want bigger difference even when there’s already big difference (especially in damage to infantry…)

How?
Only downsides are longer time to prepare it and shorter range, witch is neglected by bigger explosion radius.

I’m on board; if they’re more powerful than currently. They’re definitely too powerful in relation to grenades and are pretty much the first choice due to this.

More power to take out tanks at a considerable reduction in throwing distance, would balance them out nicely.

Regular grenades also have roughly double the radius for harming infantry compared to explosive packs, in my experience.

That said, I do prefer explosive packs, because I don’t usually use them against infantry in the first place.

It might make more sense to move explosive packs to the mine slot to limit how many you can carry and increase utilization of various grenade types. However, basically no one uses mines as is, so…

While they do need a nerf or sort, the Soviet Tanks on Berlin would be invincible. They still require 2-3 TNT to kill it if you are unlucky depending on if you face the Tank and he spotted you. On a good aim it can be one but need to be exact spot. Try to play as Germans on Berlin and throw TNTs onto the second T-34-85, its insanely durable against TNT packs

Why not regular AT grenades with regular AT grenade disadvantages?

Shorter throwing range than frags (same as now) and a smaller fragmentation radius, but still a powerful point-blank blast for killing tanks.

The first T-34-85 is very easy to kill with TNT, the second upgrade is not, Its insanely hard to kill it, I never had issues killing Tanks with Explosives until now

Grenades does needs a buff, its kinda lame they have the same killing power in terms of grenade as explosive pack

It would have 3 times MORE explosive material. How is that a nerf?

I forgot about them

if tanks weren’t spammed endlessly I wouldn’t arm every single soldier with det packs.

It’s a way bigger downside than upgrade…

Longer time to prepare=more time to get shot
Shorter range=need to get closer to enemy vehicles
Both together are buff to tanks more than nerf…
Explosive packs already nuke tanks so… It doesn’t really matter if they get a bit more damage…

That’s the point.
That delay would be triggered only when you grab your charge. So if you hear that tank is coming, you can prepare yourself.

I hardly ever use EPs at ranges >5m. I assumed that everybody else does the same.

Good post, TNT is indeed very strong compared to the rest of grenades. The problem is that nerfing the TNT tanks would be really strong. So it´s rough to balance this without nerfing tanks or adding otehr ways to destroy tanks (and many). So yeah, I dont think it will be changedfor a long time. Its a pitty to be "forced"to use TNT with all the soldiers but it is what it is.

Nerfing the throw range its a big buff to tanks, since you have to be way more exposed and they can also run away from you easily, so yeah I dont think that is the way to go. The other granades I dont think can be buffed because we would have bombar planes in hands  Tho smoke grenade I wouldnt mind a lil buff, would be epic to infest everything with these tho very unrealistic I guess

their good becouse its like a c4 of ww2 you cant throw it on long ditance without perk like a hand grenade

No, just buff AT weapons’ armor penetration. No need to buff explosion spam, if anything it needs nerfing across the board. The best way to nerf TNT backs I can think of is simply reducing how far they can be thrown.

Just make them stronger, heavier, and nerf their throw range. Knock it down to about 5 meters versus the current 30 or so and make them twice as strong.

They’d be stronger against tanks/fortified positions,Grenades would become much more desired with their much longer throw range, and Bombers AT guns would see an increase also.

Seems like an all around good thing.

So it would be like a bomb, imagine just inmolating yourself into the enemies, through a window or something, it would destroy everything
