Expanding into future battlefields harder with merge

Soo with the merge all but cemented in the minds of the devs i just want to say removing campaigns will make it harder to expand into future battlefields.
As an example i’ll take Vietnam war in the current campaign version of the game you could add a Vietnam campaign easily by reusing some assets already in game (like M1 garands, M1 carbines, m1911, mosin rifles etc) and add new vehicles/weapons as well as the campaign easily without impacting the rest of the game and allowing people that like those settings to play them as soon as they start the game.

With the research grouping and turning into a tech tree it means that to add new content you effectively need to go in a mostly chronological order and making people that want to play more modern stuff grind through prewar/ww2 stuff to reach the things they want to play which in the current time means heavy player drop off and poor retention (assuming the marketing for this game goes the way WT does where they market almost exclusively the new modern stuff.

It was never planned to expand beyond WW2, it is unlikely that we would see any non ww2 conflict added in the following years.

Lol copy pasting, you really like to unlock the same weapon multiple times is it?

Without impacting the rest of the game? Adding a new campaign will literally split the player base even more.

i see you haven’t played this game for a long time. They literally had a modern conflict event with RU vs US usign T-80Bs and Abrams tanks as well s M16s and Ak74s shortly after tunisia campaign got added in fact many of those assets are used in current custome games that are modded for modern warfare.

there are 2 wrong assumptions there.
1st. is that you’re ‘‘unlocking the same weapons’’ all the time you maybe forget but you get starter squads when you start a campaign and also those would be low lvl unlocks soo no more than 1-3h to get to lvl 6+
8the BR system would not allow for such things)

2nd. you asume the player numbers are static. modern conflict would attract newer players while retaining old ones. some old players would play newer stuff to and some newer players might try older stuff.

As for unlocking stuff it has been my opinion that certain unlocks should be shared across campaigns example if you unlock the Pz F2 in tunisia you should get it in stalingrad too.
Or unlocking the M1G in pacific you should get it in normandy too to encourage people to try other campaigns + allow for weapons to be transferred between campaigns for a small fee

that was just an event and all of those assets were ported in from other Gaijin game CRSED.

War thunder but ok. And ‘‘just am event’’ lol i can literally find 8 modern conflict custome lobbies by just opening up the custom game tab. Soo your point is literally mute its already in game.

Pretty much the point of custom games, having something different from core game.
Maybe some modder will do the mod your asking for if people actually wants it.

Doesn’t matter, it is still copy paste and dev will add way more instead of only few.

Lol you really think that adding new campaign will attract enough player to cancel out the player split effect?

every time you add more content you split the playerbase it is literally not an issue if you thing its such an issue they should add COOP.

Playerbase split wouldn’t be much of a problem, as it would attract so many new players that just wanna play Vietnam War. The problem is how will a Vietnam campaign even work. I feel like they would need to add an entire separate US Techtree/Faction just for the Vietnam War.

Vietnam Campaign, if german having all the disadvantages against Soviet until late game, you think US stand a chance at all?

If it wasnt there wouldnt be merge.

Not exactly sure what this is supposed to mean ?
If you mean co-op as gamemode you can whenever create a custom game with friend and play co-op pvp if thats what you are after.

this is a ww2 game

Not an issue with current campaign system as factions are already seperated. Only an issue with merge.

soo was war thunder 4-5 years ago now we have 2010s tanks, jets and helis.

merge isn’t there because of that but because some content creatos cried enough and staged boycots.

cool, go play that

??? i’ve played War Thunder for years this game was a fresh take for a gaijin published one that didn’t have BR issues and big immersion breaking problems.

However the game is going down the same path. If you’re too stupid to see it i sadly can not help you.

ah brilliant another CoDboi with grade-school insults when the actual community of this game doesn’t want your fanciful laser weapons
