If you are a healer - HEAL people. You get to carry a bunch of stims, and you get free “points” for healing other people. Drop your healing crate when doing an objective. It helps!
(Was in a match where the healer never healed anyone but themselves. It sucked.)
If you’re an engineer - build fortifications. The zombies stop and fight them. Wheee!
When the last objective is done, and you decide to run like hell to the APC - guess what - if the timer goes off… you don’t get all the extra tokens those people were carrying. (The APC has a 40 second timer from when the first person gets into it.)
IDIOT.
Just had one where the guy took off for who knows why, and at least 120 tokens got left on the field, carried by other people. Maybe as much as 200. And, since I paid for the pass, that would have been 400 more.
All b/c the idiot couldn’t wait an extra 20 seconds to let people catch up.
That could have been 200-240 for everyone on the team if we all were able to get into the APC. (It shows 80, b/c mine’s doubled.) FORTY tokens for the match. Grrrrr.
Look, if you don’t know the rules, just follow along with people who look like they do. There are objectives on the map, and yeah, some people run around like crazy going for crates, but if you can’t finish the map, then it’s a waste of time for everyone.
Agreed. You have limited supply for building things - another trick - is if your machine gun nests or ammo boxes survive - pick them back up. You regenerate supplies slowly, but by good management, you can make them last a long time.
Yes, but everybody who has tokens MUST BE ON THE EVACUATION APC for the tokens to count. If anybody gets left behind, then that person’s tokens don’t get counted. In addition, all of the tokens that each person has is shared with all other members of the team. So, if each person is carrying 40 tokens and they all get on the APC at the end of the game, then each person will receive 160 tokens to help them level up their Battle Pass.
Note, if you are downed by the demons, you will drop your tokens on the ground where you were attacked. They will be marked on the map with a “STAR.” You must pick them back up by pressing the letter “P.” Anybody can grab them, so it doesn’t matter who’s carrying them—so long as they make it to the APC at the end of the game.
It’s best if everybody gets on the APC at the same time. As soon as the first person gets on the APC, the clock starts ticking: The rest of the team then has only 30 seconds to get on the APC; furthermore, if one person runs way ahead of the rest of the team to the APC, that person will trigger the demon hoard that attacks you when you get close to the APC—thus, making it harder for the rest of the team to get on the APC. Therefore, stay together as a team and arrive together—otherwise, you may lose the game and all of your tokens.
Thanks to everyone who relayed this information to me!
Typical speedrunning griefer. I’ve already pointed this out since the earlier of this event, yet no moderator taking account of this to the devs for making solution or prevention. Guess we’ve to pray not to get one of them on our team lol.
The score at the end in the rankings mean nothing, from what I can tell. Maybe they give silver or something, not sure. Of course, the silver may be tied to the tokens you get.
But the tokens pay for all the event rewards.
Get bent out of shape? The tokens are the only reason to do the event in the first place, unless you just like killing zombies for the heckuvit.
And if that’s the case, why not play a game that specializes in killing zombies like 400 other games already do?
After doing about 15 matches or so in this event, I’ve noticed that APC speed dog thing happens in at least half of the matches. I’ve only had about 2-3 where everyone gets on the APC at the same time.
I’ll admit that I did it once myself in one of my first two or three matches, not realizing there was a timer on the APC and figuring that I could use the gun and help clear the way for others.
Nope! Instead, as mentioned, it queues a mad rush of mobs which makes it even harder for the rest of the team to make it and thus more than likely everyone misses out on some or most of the rewards.
Added note: given that some of the bonus tasks actually make for having more and more time in the actual event (had one for being in event for 60 minutes) you can actually penalize yourself for racing through it, since you’re not spending enough time in the event!
As someone primary playing engineer class especially in hardmode, I would like to add that engineers have limited resources so they have to portion available resources.
Sandbags are not very useful as they don’t last long at all so they are the least useful, though they sometimes come in handy.
Ammo box is by far the best you can build for your team and is must for most missions.
MG nest is by far the most situational but still useful, zombi boss can get stuck on top of it and keep attacking but it’s unable to destroy it. It can also deal a good amount of damage to boss.
Engineer is the GOAT, having fast reload and faster run speed is superhandy. Ideal for early game FG42/shotgun build.
Also, if you take time to fight your way to the APC instead of just stupidly running there
By the time you arrive you arent surrounded by about a billion zombies
I mentioned earlier that the resources are limited, but no doubt deserving of repetition. However, and that if you take a bit of time, you can pick back up the resources and get them back, especially with the machine gun, which can make a big difference. An engineer can pick up their ammo supply as well.
I think what needs to be reminded for people is - “speed running” doesn’t help you. Getting as many tokens to the APC by all on the team is what helps you.
well i got f***d numerous times cause i teamplayed and was reviving and teammates and killing zombies while some dumbf*** just goes into apc and leaves with teammates or me downed.
