Hello, I’d like to suggest adding Erich Hartmann’s Bf 109G-6 “Yellow 14” with his famous Black Tulip nose markings as a premium or event aircraft in Enlisted.
Why This Should Be Added:
Historically Iconic: Hartmann was the highest-scoring ace in history (352 kills). His aircraft is one of the most recognizable Bf 109s.
Great for Gameplay: The Bf 109G-6 is already in the game, so this could be a reskin or premium version with small stat boosts (better engine, minor ammo boost, etc.).
Customization & Immersion: Many players love historical aircraft markings. This would be a great way to personalize the Luftwaffe experience.
How It Could Be Implemented:
Premium Aircraft: Available for purchase like other premium planes.
Event Reward: Unlockable through a special air combat event.
Decal Option: If a full skin isn’t possible, adding Hartmann’s Black Tulip nose art as a decal would also be great.
During his carrier Erich Hartmann “Bubi” had shot down 352 enemy aircraft, and no enemy aircraft ever managed to shot him down, but he did fly over 40 different aircraft due to his favourite tactic which was to sneak up on the enemy and open fire just a few meters behind them, this was dangerous as sometimes scrap from the enemy aircraft would damage his own which is how he lost 40 aircraft without the enemy ever hitting him.
Though he is most well known for flying bf-109 G especially the G-6 which he praised, he also flew the K-4 in the last months of the war and even a bf-109 E during the battle of France but his time in the air was short lived as he was called back to the ground just minutes after his first take off performed during a combat mission because he performed dangerous maneuvers for fun.
He lucked out since the same aircraft would suffer an engine failure and crash into the ground killing the pilot (a common problem with most WW2 aircraft actually).
The greatest ace of all time almost died before he had achived his first aerial victory.
He loves his Messerschmitt more than anything. He refused to fly the FW 190 when they came into production he knew his BF 109 inside out and rathered that over any other aircraft a true legend.
Im sorry but we can all try and argue who the best was and its Erich Hartmann his record is unmatched in that era everyone is entitled to your own opinions but the Highest Scoring Ace is Erich Hartmann.
Marseille was more skilled in dogfighting – His ability to shoot down multiple planes in a single engagement (like 17 in one day) is legendary.
Hartmann was more strategic – He avoided risky dogfights and focused on efficient, high-percentage kills, which helped him survive longer.
Who Was Better?
If you judge by kills, Hartmann is the best.
If you judge by raw dogfighting skill, many say Marseille was superior.
Both were legendary, but their fighting styles and circumstances were very different.
the fact that you had to remove the ugh… let’s call it windmil otherwise some alpha test member team would poop their pants, and the moderators being heavy on their hammer really sunks in how low this forum has degraded. but i digress.
as it goes for the suggestion at hand, because i couldn’t express my actual opinion without the thread preemptively closed,
in my opinion, as much the airplane is cool, it’s somewhat hard to see another G6.
technically, being the 5th.
( although, we had in the past 3 gold orders just for a panzer IV f2 )
Bubi had more aerial victories.
Though its true that Hans-Joachim Marseille had his carrier cut short by an engine failure and a stupid accident while trying to bail out of the aircraft so the comparison is not fair, but neither is war.
But also lets not forget about greatest CAS ace of all time, Hans-Ulrich Rudel who had destroyed 519 tanks, 1 battleship, 1 cruiser, 150 artillery guns, 70 landing craft, 9 aerial victories and many other targets flying only the legendary Stuka.
Both Hans-Ulrich Rudel and his gunner Erwin Hentschel were ace pilots without ever flying fighter aircraft.
