Enough of this balance talk, think about what you're asking for

Omg I googled RO and got sth completely different hahaha

I mean I want it to be fun overall, but maintain a lower threshold of pandering to an expectation of disneyfication and perfect balance.

It’s kind of like using a happy pig to advertise pork, when we should know the pig was locked up, treated varyingly bad, killed and then gutted. No need to be gratituitous and ruin every meal, but we should understand and honour what happened - so, Enlisted imo should operate in this area.

I like srg’s (I think) idea that the game look at being far more reasonable with supplies and not relying on nerfs. Valuing rare equipment instead of either spamming it or deleting it.

Ya I definitely did this as a noob. I still hate some guns lol. Moved on from that though. We should still consider how to help or attract noobs so we give suggestions that strengthen the player base. Balance seems more noob friendly, but I don’t have an alternative at this time in mind.

You are on the right path and honestly smarter than a good 90% of the people here simply for having realized so.

For having played a while (too often) I found out that nerfs aren’t what will help keeping new players. In fact most of those ( pretty much EVERY “balance” suggestions on this forum) are requested by selfish “mains” that cannot stand the fact the opposing team may also have lethal armament.
But I too want newcomers to stay… Simply because I like the game. Players are the lifeblood of any game.
Nerfing weaponry or restricting this or that type of gun will not make life easier for newcomers, sadly. Veterans will still atomize them, and honestly I know some veterans here that could run through the enemy noob team using melee only.

So if nerfing/restricting weaponry won’t help new players staying in the long run, especially ftp ones… What could we do?

My personal hypothesis would be to check the economy, and xp gain. In many games, if there’s a good sense of progress it’s generally enough to hook people, plus if new players have easier access to resources they will obtain the weapons they WANT to play with more easily… And THAT I personally believe might help keeping players around

I’m glad to say the new weapon system makes OBTAINING weapons a bit easier (silver orders are finally easy to acquire) So there’s hope, game is taking a turn in right direction (even if there’s still much to do.)

Thanks.

I just realized today vehicles now use bronze orders instead of silver, so unless a player hates vehicles they need not complain about having too many bronze and not enough silver. I flinched at the order changes at first but overall I think it’s way smoother. No academy is great too. The 5 star rank is way harder now but it’s a good reward for single campaign grinders.

Premium battlepass buyers are now on the opposite extreme, drowning in silver but starving with bronze.

On the contrary, it is now super easy to upgrade to 5 stars tier I soldiers.

You focus on four campaigns, all 8 teams, every squad? If you focus your grind it’s easy. I try to level everything up like a chump haha. I’m also f2p. You’d need four hours or more in every day to f2p and easily 5 star about 30 squads

I’m on premium account and play more or less all factions and campaigns (maxed Normandy, 20ish in Tunisia and Berlin, 10ish Moscow)

Nice. I wish I could afford Premium but it’s great you are supporting them.

If you can’t afford premium on sale, there is a possible solution to earn some for free… You could play a seasonal event in War Thunder and sell the reward(s) on the Gaijin marketplace, then use the GJN to buy enlisted content.

But on the other hand, that’s probably more stressful than just working some extra hours IRL and earn the equivalent cash.

Yup, WT is more stressful than real life. That’s why I hardly play it now :joy:

Good idea though

I think because rifles and early mgs ( and some early smgs to some extend) are so bad compared to high lvl weapons, + ppl not having access to full squads with pioneers, getting EXP at lvl 1 to lvl 10 is extremely painful, I would say that it takes longer to get to lvl 10 than it takes to get from lvl 10 to lvl 20.

Its just that the lack of stuff early on is limiting you heavily on even being useful at the battlefield, low lvl players are literally just cannon fodder, and that has to change quick.
Not gonna lie, i had some friends who tried the game and got thrown off because of the grind, they didnt even make it to lvl 10.

This is so f**king true.

Hmm, the good stuff doesn’t really smoothen out until say level 15… but I stayed on for the theme. Love it.

What’s a ‘main’ sorry, noob question lol

Someone who only plays a side

Cool, thanks.

Yes, so that’s why I think that if they could at least max star their weapons more easily, it would be a tad easier at least

Or perhaps change the way the grind work. By changing the very long campaign line to a campaign ramifications unlock tree, with branches that could still need to be grinded, but also be accessed sooner.

Or give all newbies a free premium squad for one campaign containing a full upgraded Tier II Assaulter or Gunner squad until they reached a certain level.
