Since when is Enlisted almost like a rl armed conflicts?
My favourite destabilisation is how they shift the map, BUT just a little, like 70 to 90pct the same.
This should be a feature, not a permanent balancing. Keep it moving, just enough.
Imagine a procedurally generated field of battle, set in a one general area, with familar locales, but with slightly different caps.
One day you must hold the bunker, the next you gotta hold that wide open marsh behind it. Your favourite campsite is now your tomb; the ahole parking his tank on the snowy hill is flanked by mad det throwing bots. Mwahaha.
Cool. I’m fine with the content, new stuff or keep the same. The weaponry seems dated (for that time) but maybe that’s for game growth, or realistic.
I’ve started playing Hearts of Iron 4, and it’s damn brutal. I think, while still being a game, Enlisted should preserve brutality without sliding into paywall tropes or cheap tricks in a perfectly balanced game.
Like Roblox Bedwars (sorry if the reference is uncool haha). My god what a bore. Plenty of fairness for everyone.
HoI isn’t a shooter, but a strategy game with weak implentation of “politics” and “economy” (and the game isn’t even good in vanilla version). Completely different… I mean… do I have to further explain it?
Also, funny talking about balance here, while the HoI is even dumber than the Enlisted AI.
Maybe they share the same exploit policy looking at the costs of DLCs of HoI and squad costs.
You always have the best comparisions huh
I only recently got HOI so you’re probably right.
My kid plays Bedwars, so I tried it too. It’s balance perfect. For young kids it makes sense.
Well to put it short some ideas to start with…
- Make them not firing at planes. Block that.
- I dont mind them pulling of skillful shots at times but then they must have visual on you or know in some way that youre there.
- Make them stay where you put them and make them copy exactly what you do if following (at least put at close formation)
- Only start the line up reaction (them avoiding you aiming at them) if they got “aware” of shots passing by them or seen you
These things could be an good start. But like said ik coding is an long string that needs to work with different situations in play that affect each other. Even when i started to learn coding at an basic level, if there was one thing that didnt work trying to fix it might worked but then it could make another issue if the coding didnt cover it all in mind
Ah, you’re talking about the bots yeah?
As humans, pilot sniping is weird, uncomfortable, and seems very unlikely. I’d want to examine recordings from my opp POV before making a judgement.
The bots, well, I guess someone could calculate the odds of it happening in that time period and applying to a roll.
I’ve had similar misgivings on squad bot follow. Like WTF are you there?! situations. Sometimes theyre so dumb you use them as your replacements. I presume that’ll improve with time?
I think if you assigned them individually they seem to stay put a little better, but don’t use cover?
Ya, coding, I’d love to learn more about it so I wasn’t making all the bad assumptions I sure I am.
yes
Try the The New Order Mod if you are interested in history etc. While it is alt-history, it is detailed, contains better politics and economy-systems, is “dark” and (more important) has enough interesting content for 10+ game-years and multiple session without wasting another 60-80 shekels for semi-good DLCs.
Thing is, Bedwar is more like red vs. blue equipment-wise, while games like Enlisted contain different equipment from different nations/ “teams”. While I agree people should be less kinky with equipment issues/ pretending it is the main reason why they lose/ die so much, it is an issue that certain things are wrong/ weird implemented (like FG treatment or Jumbo policy).
Yet I wouldn’t even say that equipment balance is a big issue compared to other issues here.
Not trying to be being ironic here, but to me the bots seem more realistic here. Are there games with better bots? I don’t mean bots that read the matrix and shoot you how a cpu would, but how a human might behave. I’m curious
My biggest issue is the overpriced content. I can’t /won’t support the game with what’s on offer, but I wait on, hoping.
Other that that, I just wanna have a free cam for the entire match after the fact, haha.
Bots here are as advanced as RO2 i would say but a bit more cheaty so wouldnt give them that award per say but it has its charm. The most complex AI in FPS i wonder hmmm hard one that and i have to think for some time on it… Played so many different games during the years as some got forgotten in the memory lane but are still there somewhere ^^ But then comes the fact if i remember them correctly to…
I appreciate the recommend. I played EU and you def need to know what dlcs are worth it, versus the bs. Paradox haha.
I need to ask sb about how to tell a good anime game from the bad, cos they all seem bad when I tried them. Maybe Genshin is a bad place to start haha. Is RO good?
Red orchestra was rly fun and unforgiving to ^^ More of an hardcore fps war game with much action and chaos. Its almost like this i would say in a way with its action elements and structure, more bang in their artillery but wouldnt work here if they wouldnt water it down to one commander that is ^^ Here we have planes for those fireworks. No planes there though, only infantry and tanks
Some more good mods for Hoi is r56, miliumiun Dawn and Endsieg.
totally agree, revert the lmg nerf.
They already fine tuned it I think. They just need to make bipods work better.
back to days when it was AR.
