I made some small comparison. Look how shitty weapons sound in HLL
Enlisted made me hate most other games and movies SFX lol
Itās upsetting how much better most audio effects sound in Enlisted
I donāt think I need to say anything else
Hll sounds so bad
Ok, now for my actual addition to this thread
HLL is missing a hypersonic crack with every shot, which Enlisted has. Oddly enough though, it has hypersonic cracks for guns that use subsonic ammunition. The M3 Grease Gun and the Thompsonās use .45 ACP which is subsonic and shouldnāt have that crack, but still do in the game. Itād be interesting to see that changed
All other guns though? Fantastic
but things like the 110 G-2 or the 190 D-12 sound sick as FUCK, both from inside the cockpit and on the ground
also the new bullet casings sound is nice
i love how G43 and the ZH-29 sound like a hammer from god
the ppsh going SKRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
And they made the near misses of boolits not sound like a damn popcorn machine lol
oh and the tank engines, especially russian ones are just crazy
Oh I LOVE bullet whizzes in this game
Tbh I canāt hear shit on the video because both weapons fire at the same time. Also why did you include johnson if you canāt compare it?
Anyway, from experience I can tell that enlisted does sound better. Though at the same time I like hll reloads more as they arenāt as fast and robotic (BAR is a great example) and longer lasting sfx on explosions.
small correction.
thatās not a m1 bazooka.
but an m1a1 ( the HLL one )
also, regarding the sniper, i could be wrong, but i donāt think thatās the m903. itās a m904 considering itās normandy in 1944.
p.s. not much of a comparison since both are shooting at the same timeā¦
I also canāt hear a ping in the HLL half. Is a cryin shame. Man it sucks my PS5 is out of commission
There is a ping but the video is badly made (both guns fire at the same time + enlisted is noticably louder).
Thatās what I was thinking it may have been, and unfortunately I canāt test it to see for myself. Man I hope they fix that thing fast
Why does Enlisted sound so weird in that video
Also HLL doesnāt sound bad + American guns arenāt gimped dogshit
Tbh, I hate the ātss tss tssā sound of FG-42 for example. Definitely not a cup of my tea.
HLLās reloading animation for the Garand is even inferior. The Enlisted animation is much more realistic when the charging handle needs slammed. The way a Garand usually reloads is that when you press all the way down on the top round in the clip, the follower presses and releases the bolt. It stays open as long as pressure is applied, but as soon as you release, the bolt slams forward, stripping a round, and loading the chamber.(if you donāt get your thumb out of the way, you get what is affectionately known as āGarand Thumbā)
If you arenāt in a hurry situation where reloading must happen as fast as possible, there is a catch for the bolt that holds it open whether you press on the follower or not. It stays caught and wonāt slam forward in its own. If you put the bolt in this position, you have to manually slam the charging handle forward to break it free from the catch. While it is slightly unrealistic for Enlisted to use this as the reloading sequence for combat (you would press and pull in a firefight, not catch+press+slam) what is represented is very close to the realistic reload animation.
Enlisted represents this action MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better in its animation than Hell Let Loose which looks extremely artificial.
(M1 Garand owner since ābefore I was bornā)
There is no M904 (also no M1904. I assume you just accidentally missed the ā1ā) sniper rifle. The M904 was an HE fuze
The M1903 Springfield was the common rifle issued to snipers in A4 configuration
A4s were all choice-selected A3s that had their rear sight aperture removed to accommodate the Weaver scope mount.(USMC variant used Unertl)
Thatās the only real difference.
I donāt understand.
So itās more ācombat likeā to not use this catch so bolt automatically slams. But you say that enlisted reload is more realistic even though soldier does closes the bolt manually.
Can you clarify?
People forget that HLL is not a casual game that your guns comes with sleight of hand reloadā¦
marines were.
not the army.
matter of fact, during 1944 in the army and airborne units kept using the m1904. they even introduced ( on very small numbers ) m1c with scopes too.
but, the dead giveaway are the mount point of the scope on the gun.
i know my shit considering i have been working and researching stuff for my own:
( iāll leave it at that )
I sure can.
Yes, it looks much more realistic than HLLās animation of the same thing.
Yes. A short explanation of the action might clarify.
When you fire the 8th(final) round in a Garandās clip, the bolt is held open at the first catch position. If you reload from this position, when you depress the follower, the oprod catch releases which releases the bolt and will cause it to return forward, automatically strip the top round and load as soon as you release your thumb.
If you are not in āOh shit modeā, you will take your right hand and pull the charging handle back to the bolt lock position. This decouples its spring action from the operating rod catch and prevents the bolt from slamming forward when the oprod catch is cammed by the follower.
If you pull the charging handle back to the bolt lock position, you will have to shock the charging handle forward to get the bolt lock to release. SOMETIMES, when the bolt opens at the āpingā it will catch at the bolt lock and require you to slam even if you arenāt wanting to. The only thing incorrect about the Enlisted Garand reload animation is that since you go straght for the next clip with your right hand and go straight to reloading, it is unrealistic that you would have to slam the charging handle each and every reload. It easily falsely adds 1/2 second to the reload.
If they simply randomized that animation and made you have to slam the bolt every ~5th reload and have the bolt slam on its own every other time, it would be super realistic.
