Unlock for free = gaijin wont do that
Blocking for purchase for new players = gaijin wont do that
they too greedy for that
Something has to be done! Premium squads are so imbalanced and require additional boost!
So weak, im so angry, poor newbies, this is simply not fair
Merry Christmas!
I sure hope thatās sarcasm
Its Moo so it is usually.
theyāve been arguing that itās perfectly balanced to need 3 bolt action shots to the chest to be downed while the premium can spray a burst in someoneās general direction and kill them, so it definitely is
i donāt know at this point.
like, am i supposed to laugh?
showing a couple of clips of you melting down those guys, when many others have clipses of Getting Gunned from premium squads.
not to mention, that he is using an mg squad. and not everyone has mg squads right on the bath.
like, does he know that not actually everyone has a lot of time to put in a game?
and he is not even likeā¦
ghr, why do i even bother.
and that MG squads are OP as well right now, and likely on the path to getting nerfed once bipods are finished.
A certain vision of the problem was born as a result of the discussion about the topic. Thx to @47094123 @70242574 @ErikaKalkbrenner @5762269
Now then you play rifleman you will suffer against prem squads. But not quite often.
The problem will arise at the moment when the open beta test begins, and thousands of players without premium squads will face heavily armed testers. So there are bigger questions here.
Well, letās try to understand the place of premium units in this case.
Obviously, the place of submachine gunners squads at all is level 7-8 or higher. Not even that. Level 7-8 ā this is a submachine gun type MP28 and PPD (box). Players really want them, but itās bad form to give them smgs soon. Letās hold them a little longer for a sweet pie - an smg that grants them a new opportunities on the battlefield. Let both sides have equal opportunities in acquiring these trunks. And so on where is the place of premium units with MP40/PPK?
I will say, after a few doubts, from the very beginning. But just as the troops from Normandy - with one nice gun for the squad. That is, a premium squad cannot have more submachine guns than 1 before they are reach 4-5 level of company.
After level 7-8, the premium machine gun also drops out, as well as the rest of the weapon. Swings more quickly, but still. The system of loot boxes will stop the raging of these units and their dominance on the battlefield. It still be interesting to play but not so cheesy. Squads with 1-2 smg cant wipe everything on their sight. Also new premium smgs can be obtained by lootboxes once per 2 levels of company. And it have to be upgardeble. I wish developers have something like this on their minds couse this weapons in menu have āMethod of obtaining is classifiedā.
The number of stars of 4 premium units must be still - 5. But from the very beginning, they are empty and require growing. In the end, the player with full upgraded prem squad gets an equal number of points with other units in three categories.
In this form, premium units with smgs will be a tasty morsel to buy, but not the most op and destroying everything in its path. Having only one PPK/MP40 in the first half of the company will make players care the gunner more and approach the use of the premium squad with caution. Over time, strengthening the squad and bringing it to its current state will make the battles of top players at the past company levels tense and interesting.
Thx for reading and Merry Christmas!
PPK is unique both is looks and gun play and a good gun
Unless you have fully upgraded rifles, you will always suffer. You can not kill them in one shot and the cycle speed is not fast enough to get out a second shot
Which is a flawed system and should change
then by the time you reach campaign level 4 they are maxed out
Will still fix⦠nothing? They will still be able to crush newbies?
Its true and everybody now have their 3 stars rifles which can instakill any premium guys. Thats why now it is not a big problem for testers. Only for begginers and only becouse there is no matchmaking for now (its CBT remember?)
I understand the reason you told about but it definetly stay in game. And it can be useful to balance of premium squads
Experience for all 5 stars is a longer to obtain. Its close to 6 or more level of compaign. And they are not maxed out as long they have 1 premium smg before level 5-6.
You look at system without matchmaking. There will be no newbies of level 1 with level 22 terminators for sure
life hack: if youāre short on medkits, steal them from your premium squad. They have 3 each
Beginners, as you say, will still have the issue. This game will not be CBT forever and there is no guarantee Darkflow will ever add matchmaking.
How can randomized progression help balance out guaranteed premium soldier progression?
They wonāt level lock premium content, I can guarantee that much with XM1, Ka50, T72 TURMS etc being purchasable from the start in war thunder and any pack and coin ammount being purchasable in crossout. That lowers their profit and we canāt have that can we .-.
As said in here and in other topics:
There is no guarantee they will add matchmaking
There is no guarantee the matchmaker will limit effectiveness of premium soldiers
There is no guarantee the matchmaker will be effective at balancing out at all
I still have yet to find any way for matchmaking to work outside of straight up giving every item, upgrade, soldier rank, perk, etc etc etc etc ingame a point value and working off the total point value of a playerās equipped stuff, which can easily be abused with certain things simply having a higher usability value for the points they cost, and the point range at which matches are made (not 1k vs 10k, only 1k vs 1.5k for example) has to be narrow enough for it to be effective as well.
Guys your replies are not very helpfull atm we try to figure out flaws in the premium squad himself so limit discussing in another thread. This one is for devs directly.
I personally think that the premium squad is mostly a manefistation with what is wrong with the progression system as it is in place right now. A lot of the things it has going for it would not be an issue if it wasnāt āpower up progressionā
Weapons modified > not an issue if it didnāt mean they get 20% more rate of fire and damage, aka strict upgrades
Preleveled soldiers > not an issue if it didnāt take 60+ hours to get a single rank 5 solider and werenāt straight upgrades
Has all perks > not an issue if the perks were not OP
Has lots of medkits/grenades > not an issue if equipment wasnāt this hard to obtain
If progression was done via side grades, instead of strict upgrades, the only thing that the premium squad would provide is options, instead of strict improvements compared to the default starter equipment any players starts with. It requires months of playing until you obtain the gear that rivals the premium squad. At the same time, at that point you can potentially make the premium squad obselete, as it does not offer any weapon customization for the premium soldiers. No secondary, no sidearm. This makes them both P2W, mandatory to have to have fun at low tiers, yet almost useless after you progressed far enough.
As it stands the premium squad needs to provide much less benefits (no rank 5 soldiers, no upgraded guns, no perks, etc) to be considered fair, yet then they become useless in a practical manner. It is kinda sitting in limbo where you cant please anyone with whatever change you make to them, yet they have to change for the health of the game to improve.
Changing the underlying issues that manifested due to the premium squad is considered the best solution for many people, as, again, most of its issues arenāt its fault.
I see 3 ways premium squads can be handled, which could work at the same time, with historical flavor:
-
The liaison squad: squad that boosts campaign exp and/or logistics gains to help new players get started. The historical tie-in to the liaison, I took from Dmitri Lozaās reference to working with liaisons on the front lines to deliver a better understanding of what equipment is needed at the front.
-
The special forces squad: small squad with bleeding-edge equipment thatās top of the line or above whatās available to the campaign. Like existing premium squads.
-
The oddball squad: foreign troops or partisans. Leaves options similar to the premium āfunniesā that Iām a big fan of in War Thunder. Think the Ro-Go or Neubaufahrzeug but in infantry form. No real advantage but fun to play as.
Across the board, I think the simplest answer to squad levels is, instead of making them all veterans from the getgo, put their stats in the middle of the road. Better than they would be from a fresh squad, but not maxed out as they are now. Of course you could allow them to grind to max yet.
I would be fine with liaison or oddball, but special forces would be P2W and will be the death of the game in the long run
should not premium squads just speed up the grind for later troops instead of being P2W?
I donāt see an issue with keeping existing weapon options and 4-man squads without veteran perks.
Right now they do not have veteran perks. They have the normal perks, but those are OP enough.
They have double perk slot points, which has to go ASAP as well
