Enlisted fans recommend this film for the holiday season

My guess is that the Battle of the Ardennes will be released around Christmas. That means we can spend this year’s holiday season in the extreme cold of France, Begium BeLgium enjoying a very hot battle… at Enlisted.
Now that’s exciting, isn’t it?
So I pulled my Band of Brothers DVD out of storage and watched the Battle of the Ardennes to get myself in the mood now.
Any movies that will get me in the mood to play Enlisted?

Totally agree! Wanna rewatch that. Now another edit with “Begium” crossed out and “BeLgium” in an even larger font

Soon Masters of the air will come out, hope to see some Ardenne air ops in there.

As a Dutchman I am obliged, by a light hearted rivalry we have with them, to tell you that most of them won’t be able to spot a simple spelling error.

the only other movie that comes to my mind is “battle of the bulge” (1965) …
but i would not exactly call that movie “good” … its entertaining at parts, but as historical accurate as a war thunder battle. viewer be warned, m47 pattons were used as king tigers
at least the movie is full of 60s hollywood stars

So it’s the perfect movie for enlisted players!

Thanks for sharing so many movies with us!!!
I’m going to have to ask the video rental store for the first time in 10 years because I couldn’t find any of the older movies on netflix or amazon prime.

I like to watch a movie or something to get me in the mood and then play a game.
I remember well when Red Dead Redemption was released, Rock Star published a “list of movies to watch before playing the game for a more immersive experience”, that was a great idea.
Plenty of time to play Enlisted as the holiday season begins. I’m hoping to watch a lot of war movies during this period, and I’d like to watch anything, not just movies involving the Ardennes, if it will increase my enjoyment of playing Enlisted.
I’ll continue to await your guys’ movie recommendations!!

Last week I saw “The Last Frontier (2020)” and “T-34 (2019)” and they were great. I will be playing in the USSR for a while.

Here’s a few more:

+1 for myrm1dons choice, and
since we’re at general ww2 movies now, i unleash my war-movie nerdness!
(and since you have to go to the video rental anyways :stuck_out_tongue: )

Normandy immersion: (besides some Band of Brothers episodes)
The Longest Day (1962)
(watched that film at age of 8 with my grandpa on VHS, special memories  )
and ofc the first half hour of: Saving Private Ryan (1998)

Market garden (although not yet in Enlisted, the movie is too good to not be included here):
A Bridge too Far (1977)

Eastern front: (theres not much about moscow or berlin in specific i know of)
Cross of Iron (1977)

Stalingrad immersion:
Stalingrad: Dogs, do you want to live forever? (1959)
Stalingrad (1993)
Enemy at the Gates (2001)

i have no really good movie on my mind about northern afrika theatre, but
The Desert Fox: Story of Rommel (1951) (first third of the movie) and
Tobruk (1967) (hollywood film with little to no HA, but good effects)
might work for the “feeling”.

for pacific theatre immersion:
Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) … maybe a bit too much ‘murrica f*ck yeah’ … but its John Wayne baby!
The Pacific (2010) (miniseries)

but thats not all … i got more …
If you want to leave the plains of earth and rise up into the sky in a plane:
Battle of Britain (1969)
or if you want to dive deep into the ocean:
Das Boot (1981)
