Engineer building ideas

  1. The ability to build tank ditches .

( + 5 point every 10 second if there is an allied tank / vehicle nearby it ) It should be reinforced by concrete for the germans and sandbag for the rest . ( alternative usage : hide Apcs )
  2. Reinforced Foxholes . They are one man trenches .

  3. Belgian-Wall anti tank obtsicles .This is specialy for germany , mainly because they were basicly the only side that used them . It should be a higher Br anti-tank obsticle . It was a little bigger than the usual obticles .
    image
They should cost 2-3x time more than a regular one and the limit should be 3/player .
  4. Fixed emplacements , like recon towers and bunkers . The tower should cost half of the build limit of the soilder and the bunkers should fully drain one soilders .

  5. At last , Fixed tank turret fortifications

( they should drain an engineers full load too.

Yep great in a WW1 game, sorry but don’t want enlisted to become static where it takes minutes to get to the objective. Enlisted is a game best under an hour with these changes it could go multi hour. Which could easily drive away much of the player base.

It looks interesting. It reminds me of that haunting image of that Panther defending a road during the Battle of Berlin. Yet, It would require lots of coordination from the engineer player and the tanker, and most tankers just move around and it’d be a waste of resources.

So instead, I do prefer the idea of fixed tank turrets that are both part of the scenery and can be operable. (Ideally we should have more operable weapons for infantry across the maps, instead of the typical Maxim/MG 42 emplacements) There are many examples across WW2 I’m thinking of, along with your pictures.

The ideal thing would be that they can be repaired by an engineer when they’re destroyed.
I particularly remember a version of Big Action mod I played a long time ago, in which there was a fixed turret bunker that was playable. It was in Moscow. It looked badass. I haven’t been able to play it again since

none of these would drive a match over an hour lmao, they are all equally vulnerable, especially when its so easy to flank, I mean the tank turret defence is just an AT gun with a bit more cover.

So you’re going to give them limited arcs of fire and over heating to make up for limited silhouettes and large ammo capacities

lots of these may be too big for using, I mean, you wouldnt even be able to fit it anywhere on some maps

I think it would be good to add a little bit more grind to the battle. Some matches really fly by fast.

The trouble is when a single mg nest shuts down half the map. We need more map destruction or prevent them being built too close/inside buildings.

Well Right now you can make tank ditches also I use it with my firefly since is very tall tank to lower it profile I have shovels on my tanker

Thank you for your post.

I like some of these ideas.

What I would really like though are Bailey bridges and smaller infantry bridges.

these would greatly assist in maps like basically all Pacific maps, Tunisia, Omer and others.

Sometimes the generated bridges are blocked by tank hulks and no one can get past or under too heavy fire so it would be good if like real life engineers could create alternatives.

Infantry bridges would also assist soldiers in crossing water since wading across is naturally very slow and leaves you vulnerable.

These bridges could be blown up using TNT charges.

Perhaps a Bailey bridge would require multiple explosions.

The problem with this is the fact that you can block entire doorways with it. You can do similar things with hedgehogs but they leave holes that you can still pass through. Imagine building one of these inside some hallway in berlin. You could potentially block the entire point. You technically can dismantle them by hand but it takes lot of time and because explosives dont destroy them i rarely see anyone destroying hedgehogs

My dream Enlisted is: Building destruction. Removal of grey zone. Big scale objectives.

One can only wish.

If possible, I’ll leave my crazy ideas here on the other side of the Forum.

It would be great to see a separate mode of long and positional slaughter.
This would dilute the very “dynamic” gameplay.
Nevertheless, the fighting is not only rapid It’s also blood and dirt.

Fck you on about? more shit for engineers would equal more fun and interesting scenarios.
Someone building a MG nest infront of your pathc, you fcking adapt and go around and bypasse it and take it out, you don’t have to run straight ahead to die u know.
a well placed engineer buidling locks down a path but should for you make you go look for another one, making the experience more varied and fun

I don’t thing tank ditches is a good idea… too much there mate, especially concrete ones.
WHat about if TANK Squads could have the ability to make one? a low shallow dugout. press ability 1 time use and take 30 secs and Tnak is standing in a dugout maybe half meter down with small earth mound infront?

Foxhole sure! excellent, but maybe just a hole is enough with a sandbag or whatever around some stick wodden shit?
I thin maybe adding on the showeling thing and enginners could reinfore what we have dugout with wooden planks and sandbags would be coold thing!.

Idk about towers and bunkers, maybe abit too much of a stretch huh? it should more be buildings that are makeshift in the field so to speak buildings they should be able to make…
You dont hammer out a reinforced 10 man cocnrete bunker in half an hour you know… and too much of impact in match don’t you think?
I think leave that for already preplaced by maps things

Just give them the traverse they should have lmao, its not exactly going to turn fast when its hand cranked, certain no faster than an AT gun. Not to mention, none of them use turrets which couldnt easily be penned by a tank.

Why do you think they are going to be some scary OP thing?

It doesnt take too long, and as long as you, use an engineer to remove them, its very fast to destroy them

But in the heat of an battle you rarely have time to stop and destroy the fortifications. Same thing happens with hedgehogs right now. Only fortifications that get destroyed are sandbags and barbed wire because artillery and explosives clear them instantly

I mean it should be that way as well, but I also disagree, I find myself destroying hedgehogs fairly commonly by hand in matches, though it certainly requires the other team to actually use them.

Ive even had to do it as my own tank crew before which tbf was dodgy but still I did it. I mean its the same way people in game dont know how to use defences effectively to prevent grenade spam and etc. In the end people have to learn how to deal with the building system, if it werent there all matches would be terribly boring re runs of the last match.

And if we had big enough maps we could do that, but we have enlisted maps. And when a single mg nest can lock down a third of the open map. It means the rest of the enemy team can focus on the other two thirds. Add in things like ap mines tanks in grey zone in mutual support. And you have a killing field that requires stacks yo get through. Not to mention invulnerable wall a defender can use as a death funnel.
