To be honest, bots are more of a nuisance than anything else. Other than serving only as cannon fodder and giving the false sense of a massive battle, they don’t do much good.
To those who are reading this, have you ever come across in a video game with some useless NPC that instead of helping you only ends up frustrating you of how annoying it is? (ahem: Ashley in resident Evil) Oh, what I’m going to do is stop the Bots being a nuisance. To achieve this I suggest a few simple changes:
That the player’s constructions can be built despite the bot being on top of them. In theory they fixed this problem but they didn’t fix anything.
That the bots do not consume the player’s ammunition. Hasn’t it happened to you that when you change soldiers you only have one bullet in the chamber? This is especially serious in low-ammunition weapons (example: Japanese semi-automatics)
That bots do not consume energy. Something similar happens with ammunition: you go down one path and the bot is programmed to take another route, so it exhausts its energy in going to I don’t know where.
When you press the X, the bots stop going to a distant place. This has recently been implemented in some update. Now it happens that when you press the X to order your squad to go to a certain place, a very remote location is marked. Fix this.
Let the bots of the flamethrower squad be invulnerable to my own fire. (They are too stupid to avoid it and besides, the fire in this game works terribly)
A moving shooting mode. Doesn’t it happen to them that while you move to build some meeting point, the bots fall by the wayside because they are stupid? Add a motion shooting mode to fix this.
Well, for the moment that would be it. For me, they should eliminate the squadron system since I don’t see many advantages to it. Bots are simply cannon fodder and little else. But other players surely like to know why. So there I leave some suggestions so that at least, they stop being a nuisance. There are things that simply cannot be prevented such as traffic jams, stupid routes they take (especially on maps with water), etc, etc, but that is already a problem of AI as such.
Is it just me, or when you use the full bolt-action squad, every single time you switch the squad member they are ALWAYS pulling the bolt, doing it 2x slower even animationwise? Annoying to say the least
I am playing only since then, unfortunate, that means that bolt-actions are even less viable agaisnt semi-auto, no idea why devs hate bolt-actions that much, as its the most skill-based weapon type in the game, should at least have no artificial limits in trying to use them
Doesn`t that mean that the bots can shoot forever or shoot more bullets than there are in the mags? I think that bots should just auto reload when they are not in combat, like players do, cos ye, they would sit on that 1 bullet forever otherwise, this can hurt the unrestoring mags system on automatic guns, but still better than being totally not ready for combat all the time
Bots shoot in small bursts depending on the weapon, so I don’t think it’s that noticeable. In any case, the current system could be maintained (that the bot reloads and so on) but that when the player goes to control the soldier, the bullets are as the player has left them. I hope you got the idea (I’m using google translate)
Obviously your opinion is not that relevant to change pretty much bases of this game.
Plus for such special individuals like yourself, there’s that solo mode in customs.
So you literally want to just steal option from other players to play something they enjoy. For no good reason whatsoever. Forcing literally everyone to play this game only the way you want to… That’ solution I guess. 100% reasonable and completely not selfish.
For me, the biggest plus in the matter of bots is simply fact you don’t have to respawn every fkn time you die. I don’t care about theirs efficiency, because it’s pretty much irrelevant for me.
What i enjoy is that I can easily swap classes immediately in game, I dont have to wait 10 secs every time I die.
Imagine to play something just for the pure enjoyment your AIs will do your job. I guess you are not even enjoying shooting.
I’m just gonna ignore how stupid what You just typed is, but You missed the fact they serve other roles as well:
-most just use it as free respawn near battle
-squads have diffrent specialist in them, each equipped with dealing diffrent task, go play bf2 with flamethrower, see tank in 100 m and wish you had engineer/at in squad
-if you actually use orders correctly (which is hard because system right now is shit), You can fast travel between points
-You could try using them tacticly, most people don’t bother, but You can order on cannon fodder to run in front of You to serve as sniper magnet
And thats beside the fact that false sense of massive battle is what most players want, worst part of Lone Fighter is how empty it is even with 50 players.
Could have worded it diffrently than Yeet the bots from the game,
small print: they have bugs that have been fixed 10 times already, let’s just give up
Me neither…I just wish I could tell them to do absolutely nothing, so I dont swap to them with 1 bullets, and not even cocked lol. come to think of it…I havent tried passive.
When you use the flamethrower, the bots are left behind.
When your bots enter your fire and die. Well, friendly fire is the only way to balance flamethrowers.
By using the “K” key you change the type of orders from a group to a single soldier. Thanks to this, you can set the bots in a line in the okpop, thanks to which they will stop pushing and jumping out of the eye or accidentally going under the barrel.
Use the “L” key to select a soldier.
Change the soldier switch to double-click the “Y” key.
By holding the key “Y” you have the option to keep the formation under the key “Q”, and under the key “E” behavior and passive behavior is better than aggressive. Bots with passive behavior are more likely to kill enemies.
Bots with dynamite bundles can be sent to destroy an enemy tank.
But how can you know that when the only thing you know how to do is run ahead of enemy guns.
Seriously there are people who use the command system of bots? haha. Tremendous waste considering that the enemy in two seconds is already at the point of capture. Besides, what’s really the use? try to use the K to accommodate the bots nicely and it helped? Yes, just so they stopped getting in the way a bit. The same is achieved by using the X to leave them in some position behind. Otherwise, it does not bring many benefits to use the K. The game is too frantic to waste time accommodating the bots (which by the way is very useless)
